The highly infectious nature of the COVID-19 virus has made the use of contactless payment methods a health exigency. Yet, consumers are resisting using mobile payments (m-payments) during the pandemic, a confounding behavior that needs to be better understood. The present study explicates this behavior by examining consumer resistance to m-payments during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, it provides more granular findings by measuring three levels of resistance/non-adoption, namely, postponement, opposition, and rejection. Maģistra darbs ir par meža augšņu organiskajām vielām (kopējais ogleklis, slāpeklis, humusvielām, humīnskābām, fulvoskābām, humifikācijas indeksu) un to ietekmējošiem faktoriem, kā arī humusa formām sausieņu meža tipos Latvijā. Pētījumā noskaidrota sausieņu mežu organisko vielu sastāva un īpašību izmaiņas antropogēnās iedarbības rezultātā. Pētīta arī biotisko un abiotisko faktoru ietekme uz organisko vielu daudzumu, sastāvu un to īpašībām boreālajos sausieņu mežos Latvijā. Pētījums parādīja, ka pastāv statistiski būtiskas un vērā ņemamas atšķirības sausieņu mežu augšņu organisko vielu sastāvā starp dabiskām mežu ekosistēmām un antropogēnās darbības ietekmētām teritorijām.

On solving single elevator-like problems using a learning automata-based paradigm

This paper concentrates on a host of problems with characteristics similar to those that are related to moving elevators within a building. These are referred to as Elevator-like problems (ELPs), and their common phenomena will be expanded on in the body of the paper. We shall resolve ELPs using a subfield of AI, namely the field of learning automata (LA). Rather than working with the well-established mathematical formulations of the field, our intention is to use these tools to tackle ELPs, and in particular, those that deal with single “elevators” moving between “floors”.
