The drivers of customer satisfaction in the hospitality industry: applying the Kano model to Sicilian hotels

Starting from the assessment that hotels need to embrace a managerial approach oriented towards customer satisfaction, we adopt the Kano model to identify the relevant drivers of satisfaction of hotels guest in the main cities of Sicily, Italy. This study analyzes the customer satisfaction requirements for Sicilian hotels in order to suggest and weigh a set of key attributes that hotel managers need to consider in order to create an attractive offer. We base our analysis on the qualitative data collected through 600 questionnaires submitted to hotel guests of twenty Sicilian three-star hotels located in city downtowns, in different provinces and locations.

Guest-Induced Folding of the N-Benzyl Substituents in an Ammonium Resorcinarene Chloride and the Formation of a Halogen-Bonded Dimer of Capsules

In methanol, N-benzyl ammonium resorcinarene chloride (Bn-NARCl) crystallizes as a solvate with the benzyl groups oriented in an open flower-like manner parallel to the cation–anion seam. 1,4-Dioxane as guest triggers a “semi-closed” single-molecule capsule with two benzyl “arms” enclosing the guest. The introduction of halogen bond (XB) donor 1,4-diiodoperfluorobutane (1,4-DIOFB) additionally folds the remaining two benzyl arms thus resulting in a fully closed capsule. Two 1,4-DIOFB molecules bridge two such Bn-NARCl capsules, forming a 2:2:2 XB held dimeric assembly of single-molecule capsules. Abstract Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is a metal-free conjugated polymer which has become a new research hotspot in photocatalysis. It can be used for solar energy exploitation like in solar energy organic synthesis, one of the most new and appealing green applications of heterogeneous photocatalysis. This chapter resumes the state-of-the-art and progresses in the application of heterogeneous visible light photocatalysis in organic selective transformations by using C3N4 as photocatalyst.

The hydrazinolysis reaction of 5-perfluoroalkyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles with hydrazine or methylhydrazine as bidentate nucleophiles has been investigated. The reaction occurred through the addition of the bidentate nucleophile to the C(5)-N(4) double bond of the 1,2,4-oxadiazole followed by ring-opening and ring-closure (ANRORC) involving the second nucleophilic site of the reagent. This ring-closure step could involve either the original C(3) of the 1,2,4-oxadiazole (giving a five-to-five membered ring rearrangement) or an additional electrophilic center linked to it (exploiting a five-to-six membered ring rearrangement). A synthetic water-soluble meso-tetra(2,6-dichloro-3-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrinate of iron(III) chloride, Fe(TDCPPS)Cl, was employed as a biomimetic catalyst in the oxidative coupling of terrestrial humic materials.
