A hyaluronic acid/cyclodextrin based injectable hydrogel for local doxorubicin delivery to solid tumors

Localized delivery of anticancer drugs is often the most useful therapeutic approach for the treatment of solid tumors. The use of injectable polymeric systems that maximize drug concentration in the proximal area of the tumor represents an extremely advantageous therapeutic strategy. Here, the development of an injectable in situ forming hydrogel was accomplished by exploiting the azo-type Michael reaction between an amine derivative of hyaluronic and vinylsulfone functionalized -cyclodextrins complexing doxorubicin. Frequency of polymorphisms of signal peptide of TGF-beta1 and -1082G/A SNP at the promoter region of Il-10 gene in patients with carotid stenosis

The role of inflammation in atherosclerosis is well recognized. We have evaluated the allele frequencies of the +869T/C and +915G/C polymorphisms (SNPs) at the TGF-beta1 gene and -1082G/A SNP at IL-10 promoter sequence, two well-known immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory cytokines, in patients with carotid stenosis. Our data suggest a lack of association between these SNPs and the susceptibility to atherosclerosis although other reports have demonstrated this association. These results may be due to the pleiotropic effects of the cytokines and/or differences in haplotype combination that should be investigated to elucidate the role of TGF-beta1 and IL-10 polymorphisms in atherosclerosis.

Este se justifica en la escasez de obra identificable y en el prejuicio que ha supuesto reducirlo a una vertiente meramente decorativa, sustentada en el hecho de que figure como cortinero en la solicitud de colegio de pintores de Valencia de 1520; una propuesta en la que tuvo especial protagonismo. Este artículo se centra en el estudio de uno de los talleres de la escultura en madera más destacados del Gótico en Mallorca, los Tosquella, activos entre 1368 y 1446. Tras un análisis de la documentación que nos permite conocer las vertientes laboral y social de estos escultores, el texto se orienta hacia su vertiente productiva. A partir del análisis del retablo gótico de la Seu, se propone la atribución de un conjunto de obras de imaginería conservadas en la isla, a saber, un grupo de seis Crucificados y tres esculturas marianas.

El presente trabajo analiza fundamentalmente la intensa trayectoria del arquitecto y académico Cristóbal Sales Gutiérrez en la ciudad de Valencia durante su larga etapa como primer arquitecto de su Consistorio. Precisamente el edificio sede de esta institución es objeto de especial estudio bajo su dirección, así como de los casi treinta años posteriores a la muerte de Sales hasta resolverse la demolición de su señera fábrica. El estudio se completa con aportaciones biográficas, tales como su enlace matrimonial y su testamento.

El cine se origina como documental, como documento con voluntad de registrar la realidad. El conocimiento de los dispositivos cinematograficos, no solo como instrumentos tecnicos, sino tambien como elementos narrativos y organizadores de discurso, permite servirse del texto filmico como fin y medio para intervenir en la realidad. A lo largo de la historia del cine documental diferentes practicas han posibilitado establecer una gradiente de intervencion. En este artículo pretendemos atender a la representación de la figura de la madre en los denominados por la academia como mind-game o puzzle films. Sin que ni el espectador ni, frecuentemente, las propias protagonistas lo sepan, las películas que estudiaremos sostienen su relato sobre subjetividades delirantes, sobre puntos de vista engañosos. La enunciación fílmica, cómplice del autoengaño, amnesia o trauma de los personajes, traslada su percepción alterada de la realidad al espectador. Ustekinumab therapy changes the transcriptional activity pattern of TGF-β1–3 genes

Introduction One of the examples of genes whose expression can be altered by the action of ustekinumab is TGF-β. It is a pleiotropic cytokine whose activity affects psoriatic changes and the state of homeostasis of the whole organism. Aim To evaluate the effect of ustekinumab on the transcriptional activity of TGF-b family genes in patients with psoriatic arthritis and to check whether the results obtained can be helpful in monitoring the progress of treatment.
