ITS1 region of the rDNA of Pythium megacarpum sp. nov., its taxonomy, and its comparison with related species.
2000
Pythium megacarpum sp. nov., was isolated from a soil sample taken from a wheat field in Lille in northern France. It was mistakenly described as Pythium ostracodes Drechsler [Paul, B (1994) Cryptogam. -Mycol. 15,263-271]. Despite morphological resemblance, the comparison between the internal transcribed spacer (ITS)1 regions of the rDNA of the two fungi, leaves no doubt of their different identities. This species is unique because of its large oogonia and plerotic, thick walled oospores, its monoclinous antheridia with large antheridial cells and its lack of zoospores. The character combination of P. megacarpum and the ITS1 sequence of its rDNA, justifies the creation of a new species with…
Comparative evolution of P–M system and infection by the sigma virus in French and Spanish populations ofDrosophila melanogaster
1992
SummaryIn 1983, an extensive survey of populations ofD. melanogasterwas started in a southern French region (Languedoc) in two non-Mendelian systems: the P–M system of transposable elements and the hereditary Rhabdovirus sigma. Unexpectedly fast-evolving phenomena were observed and interesting correlations were noted, giving similar geographical pattern to the region in both systems. For these reasons, the analysis was continued and extended towards the north (Rhône Valley) and the south (Spain). In the P–M system, all the Languedoc populations evolved from 1983 to 1991 towards the Q type which is characteristic of the Rhône Valley populations. In contrast, M′ strains are currently observed…
This study aims to analyse the character of the husband in Vivant Denon’s short novel "Point de lendemain". In order to do this, it takes in consideration two fundamental concepts: the substitution of the body, which in the novel is realized through a cabinet of delights, and the marital discourse issued from the literary tradition a…
La dépendance automobile pour l’accès des ménages aux services : Le cas de la grande couronne francilienne
2007
The automobile dependence raises the question of social economic standard in mobility. In the outer suburbs of Paris, the automobile is the key element that determines the location of general services and the access of households to those services. Yet, this appreciation must be moderated according to territories and populations. Some territories depend less on the automobile, and part of households have developed an alternative system of mobility that partially compensates the absence or the low access to automobile equipment. If non motorized households remain socially marginalized because of the automobile dependence, the motorized households are not free from this risk either. Our obser…
Bell Beakers in the southeast of France. From Archaeology to History of the third millenium BC
2002
The term "Bell Beaker", in the strict sense, designates a ceramic beaker form with an S-shaped profile that gives it the shape of an inverted bell. This type of drinking-vessel is characterized by both its very particular pattern of decoration and by the generally skilled execution of that decoration. By extension, the decoration characteristic of these beakers bas allowed the expansion of the category "Bell-Beaker" to include other pottery forms and even other types of decoration showing the same tradition, vvhich probably represent an evolution or reproduction of the original Bell Beaker pattern, The recognition of these objects and their definition as a class date to the nineteenth centu…
El frente popular: ¿Qué clase de acontecimiento? Historiografía y actualidad de las investigaciones sobre el Frente Popular
2016
The development of the historiography on the Popular Front has focused on three main fields, political history, social history and cultural history. However, the fragmentation of the object of study has hindered a more global reflection on the Popular Front, as one major event which constituted both a political and cultural project and an unprecedented social and political alliance with a broad popular movement. A fundamental event, embedded in the long life of French history, with significant consequences for the social area of the working class, the start of a new culture of social democracy French-style and as a reference which nourished the fights of the French Resistance as well as its…
