By means of a theoretical model, this research investigated how the socioecological environment of university residence affects making friendship in the latter and students' academic success. The model contain four physical-environmental characteristics (distal variables): type of university residence (traditional, conventional), the location (outside or in the city center), and percentages of girls and of advantaged students. The so-called false friends are known to be a potential source of interference in translation and foreign language learning. In the relevant literature concerning linguistic Polish-German pairs, false friends are often illustrated on the example of noun pairs. This article is devoted to false and true verbal friends when, especially in the case of true friends, not only convergence of meaning is taken into consideration but also possible differences in their use or alternatively their usualness.

Tutkijat ovat osoittaneet, että sosiaalisen tuen sekä vuorovaikutus- ja vertaissuhteiden merkityksestä sodasta kärsineiden lasten elämässä tarvitaan lisätutkimusta. Oheinen kvalitatiivinen tapaustutkimus pienentää tätä puutetta aiemmassa tutkimuksessa tarjoamalla lisätietoa kongolaisten pakolaislasten interpersoonallisista vuorovaikutussuhteista ystävien kanssa Suomeen muuton jälkeisessä tilanteessa. Katsottaessa identiteettien muodostusta ja kulttuurien luomista ilmiöinä, näiden neuvottelujen nähdään tapahtuvan ihmisten välisessä vuorovaikutuksessa.
