Envelopes for sets and functions II: generalized polarity and conjugacy

International audience; Let X,Y be two nonempty sets, Φ an extended real-valued bivariate coupling function on X × Y and Γ a subset of X × Y. The present paper provides extensions to the well-known generalized Φ-conjugacy and Γ-polarity of diverse results of our previous work [2] related to φ-conjucacy and Λ-polarity, where Λ is a subset of a vector space E and φ is a function on E defining the particular coupling function (x,y)→φ(x−y) on E × E. A particular attention is devoted to the conjugacy functions (resp. polarity sets) which are mutually generating. Finally, for a superadditive conjugacy function Φ, we obtain a full description of the class of Φ-envelopes.

El objetivo del presente estudio consistió en examinar las diferencias en las funciones ejecutivas de inhibición y memoria de trabajo (MT) evaluadas en Educación Infantil entre sujetos con dificultades persistentes en el área de matemáticas en 2º de Educación Primaria y niños con un rendimiento adecuado. La muestra final del estudio estuvo conformada por 180 niños (inicialmente compuesta por 209 preescolares), de los cuales un 6.6% presentaron dificultades matemáticas persistentes (n = 12) y el 45.5% mostraron un rendimiento adecuado en ambas mediciones (n = 82). In the last few years a considerable amount of safety models and evaluation tasks have been developed and specifically dedicated to roundabouts. Several safety performance functions (SPFs), indeed, have been implemented for roundabouts worldwide. Since SPFs are developed using crashes, traffic volume and other characteristics of a specific site (or geographical area), their direct transferability to other contexts different from those in which SPFs were calibrated is not always possible and, in any case, it must be done very carefully. Abstract Despite the initial function of hashtags as tools for sorting and aggregating information according to topics, the social media currently witness a diversity of uses diverging from the initial purpose. The aim of this article is to investigate the communicative functions of hashtags through a combined approach of literature review, field study and case study. The ability to infer mental and affective states of others is crucial for social functioning. This ability, denoted as Theory of Mind (ToM), develops rapidly during childhood, yet results on its development across adolescence and into young adulthood are rare. In the present study, we tested the two‐component model, measuring age‐related changes in social‐perceptual and social‐cognitive ToM in a sample of 267 participants between 11 and 25 years of age. Effective Practices in Mitigating Soil Erosion from Fields

Soil erosion by water is a natural process that cannot be avoided. Soil erosion depends on many factors, and a distinction should be made between humanly unchangeable (e.g., rainfall) and modifiable (e.g., length of the field) soil erosion factors. Soil erosion has both on-site and off-site effects. Soil conservation tries to combine modifiable factors so as to maintain erosion in an area of interest to an acceptable level. Strategies to control soil erosion have to be adapted to the desired land use.
