In this explorative study, we investigated motives of autonomous learners to participate in an online course, and how these motives are related to gameplay motivations, engagement in the course experience, and learning outcomes. Towards a typology of negative engagement behavior in social media

Extant literature on consumer engagement has focused on positive manifestations of the construct, rather than on its negative dimension. Yet, many brand interactions are negative in nature. The purpose of this conceptual study is to develop a typology of negative engagement behavior in social media by using the multi-grounded theory (MGT) approach on a sample of 12,429 tweets extracted from Twitter. Towards Natural Engagement in Nonexhibitional Dramatic Role-Plays

Modern language teaching and drama have long had a tenuous relationship. Foreign/second language teaching (F/SLT) and Language for Specific Purposes (LSP) instruction often mistakenly associate drama with learning games and role-play simulations. However, these remedial activities, though useful, offer only limited opportunities for natural speech interaction. This article argues that, as a natural dialogical process of cognitive and affective involvement, nonexhibitional dramatic role-play generates authentic meaning through action and personal commitment.

This study was conducted in the context of a teacher professional development programme that aimed to improve dialogic teaching in the classroom, and it describes the programme and examines the change in teachers' dialogic teaching practices and pupils' classroom engagement during the programme.
