Fighting Antibiotic Resistance: New Pyrimidine-Clubbed Benzimidazole Derivatives as Potential DHFR Inhibitors

The present work describes the design and development of seventeen pyrimidine-clubbed benzimidazole derivatives as potential dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) inhibitors. These compounds were filtered by using ADMET, drug-likeness characteristics calculations, and molecular docking experiments. Compounds 27, 29, 30, 33, 37, 38, and 41 were chosen for the synthesis based on the results of the in silico screening. Each of the synthesized compounds was tested for its in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities using a variety of strains. Studentu mācību mobilitāte Latvijas reģionos: Latgales reģiona piemērs

Pētījuma “Latvijas studentu mācību mobilitāte: Latgales reģiona piemērs” mērķis ir analizēt Latvijas studentu mācību ģeogrāfisko mobilitāti Latgales reģionā, aplūkot augstākās izglītības mācību iestādes izvēli un mobilitāti ietekmējošos faktorus. Pētījuma tēma nav plaši pētīta, galvenokārt ir pieejami atsevišķi pētījumi par jauniešu mācību mobilitātes ikdienas pārvietošanās ieradumiem uz izglītības iestādi. Bakalaura darba pētījums tika veikts balstoties uz Latgales reģionālo augstskolu (Rēzeknes Tehnoloģiju akadēmijas un Daugavpils Universitātes), studentu sniegtajām atbildēm anketās un intervijās.

Mūsdienās meditācijas tiek praktizētas ne tikai austrumos, bet kļuvušas populāras arī rietumu pasaulē. Šajā metaanalīzē tika meklēta atbilde uz jautājumu, kādas saistības pastāv starp meditācijām un galvas smadzeņu viļņu darbību pieaugušajiem randomizēti kontrolētos pētījumos. Metaanalīzē tika iekļauti trīs pētījumi ar alfas viļņu rādītājiem un kopējo izlases apjomu N = 94. Metaanalīzes aprēķini uzrāda nelielu statistiski nozīmīgu efektu r = 0,20 (p<0,001). Tādējādi šī pētījuma ietvaros secināms, ka pēc meditācijām novērojams neliels efekts uz galvas smadzeņu alfa viļņu rādītājiem. The historical evolution of the criteria for recognition is only a reflection of the historical evolution of the functions that the act of recognition has fulfilled, and is fulfilling today in international law. Among the various possibilities, this contribution identifies at least 5 functions historically fulfilled by the act of recognition: co-optation, recognition, promotion, sanction, validation. Thus, the idea developed is that by virtue of the function fulfilled, the role played by different types of criteria of legitimacy, legality, effectiveness is destined to change.
Catalogue of the Diptera (Insecta) of Morocco— an annotated checklist, with distributions and a bibliography

The faunistic knowledge of the Diptera of Morocco recorded from 1787 to 2021 is summarized and updated in this first catalogue of Moroccan Diptera species. A total of 3057 species, classified into 948 genera and 93 families (21 Nematocera and 72 Brachycera), are listed. Taxa (superfamily, family, genus and species) have been updated according to current interpretations, based on reviews in the literature, the expertise of authors and contributors, and recently conducted fieldwork. Galaxy formation and evolution are an essential part of astronomy and cosmology today. To better understand the processes that are involved in the mechanism behind them it is necessary to study the physical processes in the observable universe at different epochs, which requires large astronomical surveys. In the case of the ALHAMBRA Survey, near infrared images (NIR) provide extra information that significantly increases the scientific value of the data, particularly for strongly-reddened elliptical galaxies, AGN or moderate-redshift starburst galaxies.
