Hepatocyte transplantation, a step forward?

2019

Hepatocyte transplantation emerged a few decades ago as a possible strategy to overcome some of the limitations of liver transplantation, among them the availability of organ donors and the functional quality of grafts. Nowadays, allogenic cell transplantation is still to be confirmed as a viable therapeutic option for patients with hereditary metabolic liver diseases. Although we have now overseen 5 decades of basic and animal research in the field, the number of successfully treated patients remains low. Limitations in cell engraftment and selective proliferation of transplanted cells remain a constraint to the generalized use of this therapeutic approach.

The Jäntti approach to adsorption with increasing gas pressure

Jäntti introduced a method of calculating equilibrium adsorption from measurements where the pressure of the gas was varied in a stepwise manner. His aim was to shorten the time necessary for a given measurement. The method was applied to gas/solid systems in which simple adsorption processes occurred and where the number of adsorption sites was infinite. Complete genome sequence of the methanogenic neotype strain Methanobacterium formicicum MF(T.).

The neotype strain Methanobacterium formicicum MFT (DSM1535), a hydrogenotrophic methanogenic Archaeon, was isolated from a domestic sewage sludge digestor in Urbana (IL, USA). Here, the complete genome sequence of the methanogen is reported. The genome is 2,478,074 bp in size, featuring a GC content of 41.23%. M. formicicum MFT encodes several genes predicted to be involved in adaptation to abiotic stress such as high osmolarity. The strain MFT is of biotechnological importance since M. formicicum strains are often found in production-scale biogas plants and it is suggested as a starter culture for the anaerobic biomethanation process. Reaction of polyamines with diethyloxalate: a convenient route for the synthesis of tetraazacycloalkanes

It appears that, in similar experimental conditions, primary diamines give predominantly [2+2] adducts while the use of secondary benzylated polyamines results in [1+1] condensation. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt Eiropas Padomes un Parlamenta direktīvā (ES) 2019/790 par autortiesībām un blakustiesībām digitālajā vienotajā tirgū un ar ko groza Direktīvas 96/9/EK un 2001/29/EK ietvertā pienācīgas un samērīgas atlīdzības principa saturu, kā tas tiek ieviests Latvijas autortiesību regulējumā un kā tas atšķiras no taisnīgas atlīdzības jēdziena. Lai sasniegtu pētījuma mērķi, tika pētīts atlīdzības regulējums Eiropas Savienības (ES), Latvijas un citu ES dalībvalstu nacionālajās tiesībās.
