In this study, our aim is to assess the role played by autophagy and its inhibition in the different PDAC cellular compartments, and its involvement in chemo-resistance using primary human pancreatic cancer-derived cells (PCC) and Cancer Associated Fibroblasts (CAF). Autophagy flux, as measured by LC3-I and -II in the presence of Chloroquine, showed a variable level in PCC and CAFs. We found no correlation between autophagy level and degree of tumor differentiation. Abstract The performance and microbial community analysis of an expanded granular sludge bed reactor (EGSB) treating wastewater polluted with mixtures of ethanol and glycol ethers –such as 1-ethoxy-2-propanol (E2P) and 1-methoxy-2-propanol (M2P)– were evaluated. The results showed good EGSB performance during start-up (100% of ethanol) in terms of global removal efficiency (RE > 95%). When glycol ethers were added, an initial adaptation period was observed of ~20 days. While the RE of M2P became complete, the RE of E2P reached only 65%. To realistically account for the multiple drivers of fish population abundances, ecosystem-based fisheries management has been accepted as the future avenue to assess and manage fisheries. However, practical implementations of ecosystem-based fisheries management remain rare, largely because of the lack of methodology and skills [2]. The discrepancy between the aims to conduct ecosystem-based and scientifically sound fisheries management and the prevailing practices becomes even wider when contrasting developed and developing countries [3].
