An Examination of Tourist Arrivals Dynamics Using Short-Term Time Series Data: A Space—Time Cluster Approach

The purpose of this study is to examine the development of Italian tourist areas ( circoscrizioni turistiche) through a cluster analysis of short time series. The technique is an adaptation of the functional data analysis approach developed by Abraham et al (2003), which combines spline interpolation with k-means clustering. The findings indicate the presence of two patterns (increasing and stable) averagely characterizing groups of territories. Moreover, tests of spatial contiguity suggest the presence of ‘space–time clusters’; that is, areas in the same ‘time cluster’ are also spatially contiguous. W artykule prezentowane są wyniki jakościowej analizy zadań dydaktycznych z wybranych podręczników do nauczania języka polskiego, które mają dać odpowiedź na pytanie, w jakim stopniu nauczanie formalnych aspektów języka przekłada się na rozwijanie sprawności mówienia. Tekst składa się z trzech zasadniczych części. W pierwszej krótko omówiono kluczowe dla tekstu pojęcia - kategorię mówienia oraz wiedzę językową, w drugiej przedstawiono i skomentowano wyniki analizy zadań. Trzecia część artykułu ma charakter podsumowujący.

Indexing the Local, State and Global in the Contemporary Linguistic Landscape of a Hungarian town in Slovakia

On the basis of photography and fieldwork, the linguistic landscape (LL) of the central square of Dunajská Streda/ Dunaszerdahely is analyzed. I focus on commercial names, which dominate the LL of the main square. The research site, a town in Slovakia of which population 80 % is Hungarian speaking, is significant, since historical minorities form the majority in very few European towns. The characteristics, functions and meanings of a linguistic landscape are best charted through a combination of methods. Si è conclusa il 15 maggio 2019 la prima parte di una ricerca- intervento ispirata alla teoria del pensiero narrativo, ai principi dell’educational counseling e della didattica orientativa.
