Resumen: De entre la galeria de personajes interesantes que nos ofrece el convento dominicano de Santa Catalina virgen y martir de Barcelona en el siglo XVIII destaca fray Josep Mercader (profesion 1720-1779). Un apartado importante aunque «intimo» de su obra lo constituyen las once breves exhortaciones que entre los anos 1740-1745 dirigio a las monjas dominicas del monasterio barcelones de Montesion con ocasion de las ceremonias de recepcion y profesion. En estos 20 folios podemos encontrar el discurso que un dominico cualificado dirigio a las monjas de clausura de su orden en dos momentos tan significativos de su trayectoria religiosa. Guinea is one of the West African countries where fertility is still high and declining little, with a worrying health situation (maternal and infant mortality levels among the highest in the world). Usefulness of omp1 restriction mapping for avian Chlamydia psittaci isolate differentiation

Abstract Sixty-five avian Chlamydia psittaci isolates collected worldwide, including 27 previously characterized reference strains, were analysed by restriction mapping of the major outer membrane protein gene ( omp1 ) obtained after DMA amplification by PCR. They were compared to 2 ruminant isolates, a feline pneumonitis and a guinea pig inclusion conjunctivitis (GPIC) isolate. According to their omp1 restriction patterns, avian strains were heterogeneous in that they exhibited 6 and 4 distinct patterns using Alu I and Mbo II restriction enzymes, respectively, thus defining 7 groups. Effect of sulfur dioxide on mucociliary activity and ciliary beat frequency in guinea pig trachea

The effects of 30 min exposure to sulfur dioxide on mucociliary activity (MCA) and ciliary beat frequency (CBF) were studied in 31 guinea pig tracheas. MCA was measured by recording the light reflected from ciliated mucous membranes using an infrared bar code reader. CBF of single ciliated cells obtained by brushing was measured with phase-contrast microscopy. Each tracheal sample was exposed to SO2 at concentrations ranging from 2.5 to 12.5 ppm, or to air for control purposes. MCA and CBF were measured before and immediately after gas exposure. Temporal Aspects of Team Cognition: A Case Study on Concerns Sharing Within Basketball

This case study investigated team cognition in basketball. The focus was on how concerns in a real match situation were shared among teammates and how the sharedness evolved. The activity of five basketball players (M age = 17.60, SD = 0.89) was studied. The data were collected and processed according to a procedure defined for course-of-action analysis (Theureau, 2003). The results indicated that the instances when all the teammates shared the same typical concern were relatively rare, but temporal analysis revealed two kinds of convergence phenomena (simultaneous and progressive). In conclusion, shared understanding emerged within this team as essentially “local sharing of understanding.”

La «Bataille de Caresme et de Charnage» («Battaglia di Quaresima e Carnevale») è un poemetto francese di 574 ottosillabi a rima baciata, risalente al XIII sec., breve e lineare per ciò che riguarda l’articolazione narrativa, ma quanto mai complesso nelle sue interne e sotterranee significazioni.
