Bilateral cyclic cheek lesions related to premenstrual syndrome: a multifactorial pathogenesis?
2009
Introduction Cheek biting is a chronic, usually innocuous, self-inXicted injury that often occurs as a parafunctional habit. Case report We report an unusual case of bilateral cyclic cheek lesions in a 34-year-old woman characterized by hyperkeratinization near the biting edges of the teeth and hematic lesions accompanied by a cheek swelling sensation, without pain and burning. The lesions coincided with a premenstrual syndrome, characterized by Xuid retention Introduction Cheek biting is a chronic, usually innocuous, self-inXicted injury that often occurs as a parafunctional habit. El debat pro i antifeminista a la literatura catalana medieval
1987
This 1987 PhD dissertation, was de facto supervised by professors Lola Badia (Universitat de Barcelona) and Alan Deyermond (Queen Mary University of London), although, because of legal limitations at that time, supervision was officially signed by another professor). This was a pioneer work in the field of women’s studies, particularly in the so-called “querelle des femmes”, although, as the dissertation study specifies, this label would only become known as such in post-medieval times. This work, then, does not deal with all misogynistic references in the whole corpus of medieval Catalan literature (that would be quite impossible in one publication), but only with those texts arguing for o…
Violenze “di genere” e violenze “sulle donne”: problemi di definizione e di rilevazione empirica
2020
The chapter aims to problematize the defining aspects of the concept of "gender violence" and those related more closely to its detection / measurement, trying to provide a contribution to the use of statistics on the subject in a prudent and conscious manner.

Maximal Strength Training as a Therapeutic Approach in Long-Standing Anorexia Nervosa: A Case Study of a Woman With Osteopenia, Menstrual Dysfunction…
2018
In persons with anorexia nervosa (AN), compulsive exercise and osteopenia are common symptoms. Although treatment of osteopenia besides weight regain is lacking, maximal strength training (MST) has been found to be effective in other populations. Such training has not been prescribed to those with AN due to uncertainty of tolerance. We therefore examined use of MST in a woman with long-standing AN, osteopenia, menstrual dysfunction, and compulsive exercise. The MST intervention consisted of four exercises: three sets of five repetitions maximum (RM), 3 times per week for 16 weeks. We examined muscle strength, bone mineral density (BMD), AN psychopathology, and compulsive exercise at baseli…

The effects of physiotherapy using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation techniques on the gait of patients after hip and knee arthroplasty: a ca…
2021
Background: Gait disturbances are a major problem for patients after arthroplasty. After the surgery, walking speed, the rhythm of locomotion, and the length of the steps are significantly reduced. One of the therapeutic methods used in gait re-education is proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). Aim of the study: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of physiotherapy using PNF techniques on the gait of patients after hip and knee arthroplasty. Case report: A 60-year-old woman with advanced osteoarthritis that received bilateral hip and right knee arthroplasties was examined. Before and after the therapy, the following tests were performed: measurement of the range of motion (RO…
Optoelectronic devices based on caesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystals
2020
The Sanremo-Effect. Exposing Rape, Normalizing Sexism.
2021
Framing Effects on Online Security Behavior
2020
We conducted an incentivized lab experiment examining the effect of gain vs. loss-framed warning messages on online security behavior. We measured the probability of suffering a cyberattack during the experiment as the result of five specific security behaviors: choosing a safe connection, providing minimum information during the sign-up process, choosing a strong password, choosing a trusted vendor, and logging-out. A loss-framed message led to more secure behavior during the experiment. The experiment also measured the effect of trusting beliefs and cybersecurity knowledge. Trusting beliefs had a negative effect on security behavior, while cybersecurity knowledge had a positive effect.
