Patterns of genomic instability in gastric cancer: clinical implications and perspectives

In gastric cancer (GC) the loss of genomic stability represents a key molecular step that occurs early in the carcinogenesis process and creates a permissive environment for the accumulation of genetic and epigenetic alterations in tumor suppressor genes and oncogenes. It is widely accepted that GC can follow at least two major genomic instability pathways, microsatellite instability (MSI) and chromosome instability (CIN). MSI is responsible for a well-defined subset of GCs. CIN represents a more common pathway comprising heterogeneous subsets of GC. Guanine-based purines are part of the purinergic system and recently have been shown to act as neuromodulators, interfering with acetylcholine release by enteric neurons in mouse colon. Due to the pivotal role played by enteric neurons in the control of gastrointestinal motility, the aim of the present study was to verify whether guanosine may affect gastric emptying and the mechanical tone, detected in vitro as changes in intraluminal pressure, of the isolated mouse stomach. Magenentleerung nach Magenresektion mit und ohne erhaltene Duodenalpassage

Bei Hausschweinen wurden 2/3-Magenresektionen mit erhaltener sowie ausgeschalteter Duodenalpassage durchgefuhrt, die Magenentleerung szintigraphisch uber 4 h gemessen und einer Vergleichsgruppe nichtresezierter Tiere gegenubergestellt. Fur die halbfeste, mit 99mTc markierte Testmahlzeit fanden sich experimentell keine Hinweise fur eine verzogerte Magenentleerung nach Ausschaltung der Duodenalpassage durch Roux-Rekonstruktion. B-I- and B-II-Roux-Resektion differierten in der Magenentleerung nicht. The incidence of gastrointestinal diseases and in particular gastric cancer (GC) is high worldwide. Over the last few years, numerous studies have speculated that Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) can be correlated with gastric cancerogenesis. Virulence factors of H. pylori can contribute to the variability of clinical outcomes: among the most important virulence factors is the pathogenicity island (CagPAI), vacA and oipA gene. EBV infection usually persists in B cells and induces an inflammatory reaction in cooperation with H. pylori. VOC ir savienojums, kam istabas temperatūrā ir augsts tvaika spiediens, kas veicina tā iztvaikošanu gāzes formā. Šo gāzi var noteikt cilvēka audos un šķidrumos.( Haick et al 2014) Galvenokārt ir pētīta VOC saistība ar plaušu vēzi. Taču aizvien vairāk tiek veikti pētījumi, lai noteiktu, kādas ir iespējas VOC pielietot arī kuņģa audzēja gadījumā.
