Uplink DPCCH Gating of Inactive UEs in Continuous Packet Connectivity Mode for HSUPA

In order to further improve the packet performance in the UMTS FDD system, uplink dedicated physical control channel (DPCCH) gating as a scheme is proposed in 3GPP under the work item "continuous connectivity for packet data users". In this paper, the uplink DPCCH gating concept is described and analyzed on both a qualitative and a quantitative level. And the system performance of different gating patterns used in the scheme was investigated by analytical prediction and system level simulations with different channel profiles. Thermal gating of magnon exchange in magnetic multilayers with antiferromagnetic spacers

We observe a strong thermally-controlled magnon-mediated interlayer coupling of two ferromagnetic layers via an antiferromagnetic spacer in spin-valve type trilayers. The effect manifests itself as a field-induced coherent switching of the two ferromagnets, which can be controlled by varying temperature and the spacer thickness. We explain the observed behavior as due to a strong hybridization of the ferro- and antiferro-magnetic magnon modes in the trilayer at temperatures just below the N\'eel temperature of the antiferromagnetic spacer.

Mechanical high energy ball milling of an Fe2Si elemental powders mixture was used to activate a self sustaining combustion reaction or so-called self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) to form iron disilicide, a reaction for which the thermodynamic criterion is not favorable. In situ synchrotron characterization of mechanically activated self-propagating high-temperature synthesis applied in Mo–Si system

Abstract An original experiment was designed to monitor structural and thermal evolutions during the MASHS (Mechanically Activated Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis) process in the Mo–Si system. Time-Resolved X-Ray Diffraction (TRXRD) coupled with an infrared imaging technique was performed to study, in situ, the formation of the α-MoSi2 phase in the combustion front. Despite a temporal resolution of 50 ms between two consecutive diffractograms, no intermediate phase was observed during the passage of the combustion front. Self-propagating high-temperature synthesis provides an attractive practical method for producing advanced materials such as ceramics, composites and intermetallics. A comparative assessment of the accuracy of electronic apex locator (Root ZX) in the presence of commonly used irrigating solutions

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of Root ZX in determining working length in presence of normal saline, 0.2% chlorhexidine and 2.5% of sodium hypochlorite. Material and Methods: Sixty extracted, single rooted, single canal human teeth were used. Teeth were decoronated at CEJ and actual canal length determined. Then working length measurements were obtained with Root ZX in presence of normal saline 0.9%, 0.2% chlorhexidine and 2.5% NaOCl. gamma2-Adaptin is a putative member of the clathrin adaptor protein family with unknown physiological function. We previously reported that gamma2-adaptin acts as a ubiquitin receptor by virtue of its ubiquitin-interacting motif. Here we demonstrate that this motif mediates a specific physical interaction with the ubiquitin ligase Nedd4 and promotes ubiquitination of gamma2-adaptin. By mapping regions of Nedd4 involved in binding to gamma2-adaptin, we identified its C2 domain to be essential, whereas the WW and HECT domains are dispensable.
