Kamiejski, De Oliveira, and Guimond apply several theories in exploration of the variables related to the development of the existent ethnic tensions in this region. Policy models are also evaluated and considered as means of engendering harmony in the future. This paper examines the social status of amateur athletes in respect of discrimination they may encounter in comparison with professional athletes. It also addresses the issue of the Italian ‘vincolo sportivo’ and correlative violations of EU law on the free movement of workers. Finally, some possible solutions are proposed.
Is Board Gender Diversity a Driver of CEO Compensation?: Examining the Leadership Style of Institutional Women Directors

In this investigation, we aim at examining the influence of institutional female directors on CEO compensation. Specifically, we investigate the impact of institutional female directors as a whole, differentiating by whether female directors have business ties with the firms’ boards on which they sit (pressure-sensitive female directors) or do not have business links (pressure-resistant female directors). We hypothesize that there is a nonlinear association, specifically quadratic, between institutional, pressureresistant and pressure-sensitive female directors on boards, and CEO compensation. This article looks at the Swedish Finn Youth Organization’s transnational political activities, and how they have developed. In the beginning, the youth organization modelled itself after its mother organization and joined the Finnish Expatriate Parliament (FEP), which made its participation in transnational practices easy. The case study of the Swedish Finn Youth Organization in Stockholm, Sweden, demonstrates that if the younger generation is given an opportunity to establish and govern their own associations, new forms of organization can be expected. AbstractThis article investigates the construction of gender identities of Pakistani men and women Facebook users given that Facebook has emerged as the prime social media platform through which Pakistani users interact. Tämä tutkielma tarkastelee pääosin naisten muodostamaa Livejournal-yhteisöä, jonka kieli on englanti ja keskustelun aihe jalkapallo. Pyrin selvittämään, miten yhteisön jäsenet käsittelevät perinteisesti miehiseksi miellettyä diskurssia. Tämä selviää tutkimalla yhteisön puheenaiheiden eli topiikkien sisältöä vuonna 2010. Topiikkeja ja yhteisön käyttäjäprofiilia tutkimalla pyrin myös selvittämään, voiko yhteisön puheenaiheita tai itse yhteisöä kuvailla sukupuolittuneiksi.
