Morphological and magnetic analysis of Fe nanostructures on W(110) by using scanning tunneling microscopy and Lorentz microscopy

Abstract We investigated morphological features and magnetic properties of epitaxial Fe nanostructures (films, stripes and nanoparticles) on a W(110) surface with monoatomic steps preferentially along the direction. The nanostructures were prepared in ultra-high vacuum by using electron-beam evaporation and subsequent annealing at different temperatures. Scanning tunneling microscopy measurements in-situ revealed elongated Fe nanostructures with aspect ratios of up to . Metal Halide Perovskites (MHPs) have arisen as promising materials to construct cost-effective photovoltaic and light emission devices. The study of nonlinear optical properties of MHPs is necessary to get similar success in nonlinear photonic devices, which is practically absent in the literature. Corrosion of Welded Metal Structures of Mining Equipment

Mining equipment made of welded metal structures is strongly affected by the corrosion phenomenon due to the working conditions. Initial research has shown that the corrosion phenomenon is most pronounced in the area of cross-welded joints and welded T-shaped joints. Selective Band Gap to Suppress the Spurious Acoustic Mode in Film Bulk Acoustic Resonator Structures

In this work, we investigate numerically the propagation of Lamb waves in a film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) structure formed by piezoelectric ZnO layer sandwiched between two Mo electrodes coupled with Bragg reflectors; the system is thus considered as a phononic-crystal (PnC) plate. The aim is to suppress the first-order symmetric Lamb wave mode considered as a spurious mode caused by the establishment of a lateral standing wave due to the reflection at the embedded lateral extremities of the structure; this spurious mode is superposing to the main longitudinal mode resonance of the FBAR. Non-Linearity Extremum in Niobium Doped Potassium Tantalate

We report non-linear dielectric measurements in the KTaO 3 :Nb system (x Nb ≤ 0.05). The non-linear susceptibility diverges at low temperatures and reaches maximum values in the intermediate range (0.0075 ≤ x Nb ≤ 0.02). To account for this extremum non linearity, we propose a model of temperature dependent clusters which fits with a number of experimental reports. We also suggest that this model may be applied to the related compounds SrTiO 3 :Ca and KTaO 3 :Na.

Low complexity digital background calibration algorithm for the correction of timing mismatch in time-interleaved ADCs

Abstract A low-complexity post-processing algorithm to estimate and compensate for timing skew error in a four-channel time-interleaved analog to digital converter (TIADC) is presented in this paper, together with its hardware implementation. The Lagrange interpolator is used as the reconstruction filter which alleviates online interpolator redesign by using a simplified representation of coefficients. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can suppress error tones for input signal frequency from 0 to 0.4 f s . First in-situ measurements of plume chemistry at mount garet volcano, island of gaua (Vanuatu)

Recent volcanic gas compilations have urged the need to expand in-situ plume measurements to poorly studied, remote volcanic regions. Despite being recognized as one of the main volcanic epicenters on the planet, the Vanuatu arc remains poorly characterized for its subaerial emissions and their chemical imprints. Here, we report on the first plume chemistry data for Mount Garet, on the island of Gaua, one of the few persistent volatile emitters along the Vanuatu arc. The Miocene record of talpids and dimylids in south-western Europe is very scarce. In the present work, we study for the first time the talpids and complete the description of the dimylids, already started with a new species of the genus Plesiodimylus from the Ribesalbes–Alcora Basin (MN4, lower Aragonian, early Miocene) by Crespo et al. (2018). The talpids recovered inRibesalbes–Alcora comprise themost common Desmanodon daamsi and Desmanella fejfari, for which the last known occurrence is recorded here.
