B1/neural stem cells (B1-NSCs) of the mouse subependymal zone (SEZ) support the ongoing production of olfactory bulb interneurons, but their neurogenic potential is progressively reduced as mice age. Imbalance between sympathetic and sensory innervation in peritoneal endometriosis

To investigate possible mechanisms of pain pathophysiology in patients with peritoneal endometriosis, a clinical study on sensory and sympathetic nerve fibre sprouting in endometriosis was performed. Metagenomic, microbiological, chemical and sensory profiling of Caciocavallo Podolico Lucano cheese

In this study, Caciocavallo Podolico Lucano (CPL) cheese was deeply characterized for its bacterial community, chemical composition and sensory aspects. The entire cheese making process (from milk collection to ripened cheese) was performed by strictly applying the traditional protocol for CPL production in four dairy factories (A–D) representative of the production area. Lightweight BWT Construction for Very Large String Collections

A modern DNA sequencing machine can generate a billion or more sequence fragments in a matter of days. The many uses of the BWT in compression and indexing are well known, but the computational demands of creating the BWT of datasets this large have prevented its applications from being widely explored in this context. Recent progress in the field of \{DNA\} sequencing motivates us to consider the problem of computing the Burrows‚ÄìWheeler transform (BWT) of a collection of strings. A human genome sequencing experiment might yield a billion or more sequences, each 100 characters in length. Such a dataset can now be generated in just a few days on a single sequencing machine. Differential Effects of Fluvoxamine and Other Antidepressants on the Biotransformation of Melatonin

Melatonin, the predominant product of the pineal gland, is involved in the maintenance of diurnal rhythms. Nocturnal blood concentrations of melatonin have been shown to be enhanced by fluvoxamine, but not by other serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Because fluvoxamine is an inhibitor of several cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes, the authors studied the biotransformation of melatonin and the effects of fluvoxamine on the metabolism of melatonin in vitro using human liver microsomes and recombinant human CYP isoenzymes.
