Cycloartane-type saponins from astragalus tmoleus var. tmoleus

Five known cycloartane-type glycosides were isolated from the roots of A. tmoleus Boiss. var. tmoleus. The identification of these compounds was mainly achieved by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic techniques and FABMS. The results of our studies confirm that triterpene saponins with the cycloartane-type skeleton might be chemotaxonomically significant for the genus Astragalus.

Cycloartane-type Glycosides from Two Species of Astragalus (Fabaceae)

Three known cycloartane-type glycosides were isolated from the roots of two different species of Astragalus, A. glycyphyllos, A. sempervirens. The identification of these compounds were mainly achieved by 2D NMR spectroscopic techniques and FAB-MS. The results of our studies confirm that triterpene saponins from the cycloartane-type skeleton might be chemotaxonomically significant to the genus Astragalus.

Molecular analysis ofPhytophthoradiversity in nursery-grown ornamental and fruit plants

The genetic diversity of Phytophthora spp. was investigated in potted ornamental and fruit tree species. A metabarcoding approach was used, based on a semi-nested PCR with Phytophthora genus-specific primers targeting the ITS1 region of the rDNA. More than 50 ITS1 sequence types representing at least 15 distinct Phytophthora taxa were detected. QUANTUM YANG-MILLS THEORY ON ARBITRARY SURFACES

We study quantum Maxwell and Yang-Mills theory on orientable two-dimensional surfaces with an arbitrary number of handles and boundaries. Using path integral methods we derive general and explicit expressions for the partition function and expectation values of contractible and noncontractible Wilson loops on closed surfaces of any genus, as well as for the kernels on manifolds with handles and boundaries. In the Abelian case we also compute correlation functions of intersecting and self-intersecting loops on closed surfaces, and discuss the role of large gauge transformations and topologically nontrivial bundles.

The unequal mass sunrise integral expressed through iterated integrals on M‾1,3

Abstract We solve the two-loop sunrise integral with unequal masses systematically to all orders in the dimensional regularisation parameter e. In order to do so, we transform the system of differential equations for the master integrals to an e-form. The sunrise integral with unequal masses depends on three kinematical variables. We perform a change of variables to standard coordinates on the moduli space M 1 , 3 of a genus one Riemann surface with three marked points. This gives us the solution as iterated integrals on M ‾ 1 , 3 . On the hypersurface τ = const our result reduces to elliptic polylogarithms. In the equal mass case our result reduces to iterated integrals of modular forms.

Echolocation signals of the plecotine bat, Plecotus macrobullaris Kuzyakin, 1965

Plecotus macrobullaris was recorded in an alpine region in Switzerland. Like other species of the genus Plecotus, P. macrobullaris emitted multiharmonic, downward frequency-modulated signals consisting mostly of the 1st and the lower part of the 2nd harmonic. Signal structure depended on the distance to the background. The shortest signals (0.8 ms) were recorded close to the background. The first harmonic began at about 46 kHz and ended around 23 kHz. Signals were emitted in groups. The longest signals (up to 7.3 ms) were recorded above a meadow, far from background targets.
