Duality of moduli in regular toroidal metric spaces

Toward a real-time tracking of dense point-sampled geometry

4 pages; International audience; In this paper, we address the problem of tracking temporal deformations between two arbitrary densely sampled point-based surfaces. We propose an intuitive and efficient resolution to the point matching problem within two frames of a sequence. The proposed method utilizes two distinct space partition trees, one for each point cloud, which both are defined on a unique discrete space. Our method takes advantage of multi-resolution concerns, voxel adjacency relations, and a specific distance function. Frames for Hilbert spaces are interesting for mathematicians but also important for applications in, e.g., signal analysis and physics. In both mathematics and physics, it is natural to consider a full scale of spaces, and not only a single one. In this paper, we study how certain frame-related properties of a certain sequence in one of the spaces, such as completeness or the property of being a (semi-) frame, propagate to the other ones in a scale of Hilbert spaces. Strong BV-extension and W1,1-extension domains

We show that a bounded domain in a Euclidean space is a $W^{1,1}$-extension domain if and only if it is a strong $BV$-extension domain. In the planar case, bounded and strong $BV$-extension domains are shown to be exactly those $BV$-extension domains for which the set $\partial\Omega \setminus \bigcup_{i} \overline{\Omega}_i$ is purely $1$-unrectifiable, where $\Omega_i$ are the open connected components of $\mathbb{R}^2\setminus\overline{\Omega}$.
Ahlfors-regular distances on the Heisenberg group without biLipschitz pieces

We show that the Heisenberg group is not minimal in looking down. This answers Problem 11.15 in `Fractured fractals and broken dreams' by David and Semmes, or equivalently, Question 22 and hence also Question 24 in `Thirty-three yes or no questions about mappings, measures, and metrics' by Heinonen and Semmes. The non-minimality of the Heisenberg group is shown by giving an example of an Ahlfors $4$-regular metric space $X$ having big pieces of itself such that no Lipschitz map from a subset of $X$ to the Heisenberg group has image with positive measure, and by providing a Lipschitz map from the Heisenberg group to the space $X$ having as image the whole $X$. Abstract The Isbell, compact-open and point-open topologies on the set C ( X , R ) of continuous real-valued maps can be represented as the dual topologies with respect to some collections α ( X ) of compact families of open subsets of a topological space X . Those α ( X ) for which addition is jointly continuous at the zero function in C α ( X , R ) are characterized, and sufficient conditions for translations to be continuous are found. A space $X$ is called selectively separable(R-separable) if for every sequence of dense subspaces $(D_n : n\in\omega)$ one can pick finite (respectively, one-point) subsets $F_n\subset D_n$ such that $\bigcup_{n\in\omega}F_n$ is dense in $X$. These properties are much stronger than separability, but are equivalent to it in the presence of certain convergence properties. For example, we show that every Hausdorff separable radial space is R-separable and note that neither separable sequential nor separable Whyburn spaces have to be selectively separable. Spectral sequence associated with a symplectic manifold

A method of computation of its terms is presented together with some stabilization results. As an application a characterization of symplectic harmonic manifolds is given and a relationship with the C-spectral sequence is indicated.
