In order to enhance the consumption of bitter and strong tasting vegetables such as cabbages and root vegetables, it is required to identify potential mediators of sociodemographic–diet relationships. In this context a consumer field studywas conducted in Denmark which comprised a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire, a bitter threshold value test kit with quinineand a preference test with two samples of carrots differing in the degree of bitterness. Hyperspectral imaging based biomass and nitrogen content estimations from light-weight UAV

Hyperspectral imaging based precise fertilization is challenge in the northern Europe, because of the cloud conditions. In this paper we will introduce schemes for the biomass and nitrogen content estimations from hyperspectral images. In this research we used the Fabry-Perot interferometer based hypespectral imager that enables hyperspectral imaging from lightweight UAVs. During the summers 2011 and 2012 imaging and flight campaigns were carried out on the Finnish test field. Estimation mehtod uses features from linear and non-linear unmixing and vegetation indices. The results showed that the concept of small hyperspectral imager, UAV and data analysis is ready to operational use.

La cryptogéine est un éliciteur protéique des réactions de défense chez le tabac sécrété par l’oomycète Phytophthora cryptogea. Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman kohteena ovat tekniikan alalla toimivan GETA-tutkijakoulun jatko-opiskelijanaiset ja heidän kokemuksensa jatko-opiskelusta miehisessä tiedemaailmassa. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää naisten asemaa GETAssa sekä vertailla kokemuksia muihin jatko-opiskelijanisista tehtyihin tutkimuksiin. Un workshop a réuni une centaine de personnes à Dijon, chercheurs, acteurs de la profession agricole et pouvoirs publics, autour du thème de la conception de systèmes agricoles agroécologiques à l’échelle d’un territoire. Les journées ont permis de faire le point sur les méthodes expérimentales à cette échelle, et sur les connaissances disponibles en agroécologie pour construire des protocoles expérimentaux.

Fruit and vegetable intake is insufficient in industrialized nations and long-haul heavy goods vehicle (HGV) drivers are considered a particularly at-risk group. The aim of the current study was to test the effectiveness of a multi-theory, dual-phase model to predict fruit and vegetable consumption in Australian long-haul HGV drivers.
