Poliitikkojen väitetään vaikenevan taiteesta ja kulttuurista. Suurimmalla osasta puolueista on silti tarve sanallistaa suhdettaan taiteeseen ja kulttuuriin sekä niiden edistämiseen. Tutkimusaineistoni koostuu viimeisen kuudenkymmenen vuoden aikana toimineen 48 puolueen 1270 poliittisesta ohjelmasta. Vuosina 1960–2019 toimivista ja vuodesta 1969 lähtien rekisteröityjen puolueiden ohjelmista yhteensä 579:stä löytyy taide- ja kulttuurikirjauksia. Corpus Analysis and Register Variation: a field in need of an update

Abstract This study reviews the development of research on register variation (RV) over the last century to the present, emphasizing the influence of corpus analyses on its greatest advances and also on its major weaknesses and ambiguities. In search of practical and useful methods to analyse language registers, in the second part of the paper, the authors sketch a different approach to RV which has been used over the last ten years in language teaching at university level and professional communication training.

Finnish and UK English pre-teen children's text message language and its relationship with their literacy skills

The aim of the study was to demonstrate the style of text language used by Finnish pre-teen texters (n = 65) and determine how their text language related to their traditional literacy skills, and compare descriptively these results with earlier results from work with young English texters. Three kinds of text messages (natural texts, elicited texts and elicited replies) were recorded after cognitive and literacy skills were assessed. Abstract Purpose Mortality appears to be lower in family caregivers than in the general population. However, there is lack of knowledge whether the difference in mortality between family caregivers and the general population is dependent on age. The purpose of this study was to analyze all-cause mortality in relation to age in family caregivers and to study their cause-specific mortality using data from multiple Finnish national registers.
