DFT calculation of 1J(119Sn,13C) and 2J(119Sn,1H) coupling constants in di- and trimethyltin(IV) compounds

2008

We have tested several computational protocols, at the nonrelativistic DFT level of theory, for the calculation of 1J(119Sn, 13C) and 2J(119Sn, 1H) spin-spin coupling constants in di- and trimethyltin(IV) derivatives with various ligands. Quite a good agreement with experimental data has been found with several hybrid functionals and a double-zeta basis set for a set of molecules comprising tetra-, penta-, and hexa-coordinated tin(IV). Then, some of the protocols have been applied to the calculation of the 2J(119Sn, 1H) of the aquodimethyltin(IV) ion and dimethyltin(IV) complex with D-ribonic acid and to the calculation of 1J(119Sn, 13C) and 2J(119Sn, 1H) of the dimethyltin(IV)-glycylglycin…

119Sn Mssbauer studies of bis[cysteinato(1?)-S]- and bis[penicillaminato(1?)-S]-diorganotin(IV) species in the crystalline state and in frozen aqueo…

1988

The bonding and the configuration of the tin environment in the title compounds {R2Sn[SCH2CH(NH3+)COO−]2 and R2Sn[SC(CH3)2CH(NH3+)COO−]2, indicated in the following as R2Sn(cysH)2 and R2Sn(penH)2 respectively} has been investigated through the determination of the Mossbauer-Zeeman spectra of Ph2Sn(cysH)2 and Ph2Sn(penH)2 in the solid state, and through conventional Mossbauer spectroscopy of Me2Sn(penH)2 in the solid state as well as of Me2Sn(cysH)2 and Me2Sn(penH)2 in aqueous solution (frozen). The treatment of the data by the pointcharge model approach suggested the general occurrence of a tetrahedral C2SnS2 core. In aqueous Hepes buffer, a tertiary amino nitrogen atom has been observed to…

1992

The dipeptide complexes R2SnL listed below have been synthesized: (a) Me2SnL; H2L = glycylalanine (H2GlyAla), glycylvaline (H2GlyVal), glycylmethionine (H2GlyMet), glycyltryptophan (H2GlyTrp), glycyltyrosine (H2GlyTyr); (b) nBu2SnL; H2L = H2GlyAla, H2GlyVal; (c) nBu2SnL.H2O; H2L = glycylglycine (H2GlyGly), H2GlyAla; (d) tBu2SnL; H2L = H2GlyAla, H2GlyVal; (e) tBu2SnGlyGly. H2O; (f) Ph2SnL; H2L = H2GlyAla, H2GlyVal, H2GlyTyr, H2GlyTrp; (g) Ph2Sn(HGlyVal)2. The crystal and molecular structures of nBu2SnGl Val have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The polyhedron around tin is a distorted trigonal bipyramid, analogous to that of Et2SnGlyTyr (see Vornefeld et al., Appl. Organo…

Synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of diethyltin (IV) derivatives of dipeptides: Crystal and molecular structure of diethyltin glycyltrosin…

1992

Dipeptide complexes of the diethyltin(IV) moiety, Et2SnL, have been synthesized, H2L being glycylglycine (H2GlyGly), glycylalanine (H2GlyAla), alanylalanine (H2AlaAla), glycylvaline (H2GlyVal), valylvaline (H2ValVal), glycylmethionine (H2GlyMet), glycyltyrosine (H2GlyTyr). The crystal and molecular structure of the complex Et2SnGlyTyr has been determined by singlecrystal X-ray diffraction. It consists of monomeric units, with the tin atom having a considerably distorted trigonal bipyramidal environment. The dipeptide acts as a tridentate ligand bonding the tin of the C2Sn fragment (equatorial carbon atoms) with the peptide nitrogen atom (equatorial) and axial (monodentate) carboxyl oxygen a…

Synthesis of phosphono dipeptides, inhibitors of cathepsin C

1998

Abstract Phosphono dipeptides containing glycine, glycylglycine or L-alanine at N-termini and racemic phosphonic acid analogues of aromatic amino acids, as well as racemic alicyclic aminophosphonates, exhibit moderate inhibitory activity towards cathepsin C. This activity is probably due to the binding of the phosphonate moiety by a positively charged part of the enzyme which is complementary to the carboxylate part of the synthetic dipeptide products of the enzymatic reaction.

Bis(glycylglycinium) oxalate at 100 K.

2003

The structure of the title compound, 2C(4)H(9)N(2)O(3)(+).C(2)O(4)(2-), which has been determined by X-ray diffraction, contains discrete glycylglycine (HGly-Gly)(+) cations in general positions and oxalate anions which lie across centres of inversion. Although the geometry of the (HGly-Gly)(+) cation is not significantly different compared with other structures containing this residue, a few changes in conformation are observed which indicate the presence of molecular interactions. The molecular network in the crystal consists of one nearly linear O-H...O, five N-H...O and two weak C-H.O hydrogen bonds.

Apparent transinhibition of peptide uptake in the scutellum of barley grain

1985

The uptake of glycylsarcosine (Gly‐Sar) into scutella separated from germinating grains of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Himalaya) is inhibited by other peptides; in most cases the inhibition is not purely competitive but of a mixed type (simultaneous increase in the apparent Km and decrease in Vmax) (Sopanen, T. 1979. FEBS Lett. 108: 447–450). The aim of the present experiments was to elucidate the mechanism of the mixed inhibition by studying how peptides already taken up into the cells affect the uptake of Gly‐Sar. When scutella were preincubated in the presence of various peptides, 11 of the 13 peptides tested inhibited the subsequent uptake of Gly‐Sar by 10 to 45%. The inhibition, stu…

Synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of dicyclohexyltin derivatives of dipeptides, andin vitro effects against MDA-MB 231 breast cancer cells…

1992

Dicyclohexyltin derivatives Cy2SnL (Cy = cyclohexyl) of the dipeptides H2L, glycylglycine, glycylalanine, alanylglycine, glycylvaline, glycylmethionine, glycylphenylalanine and glycyltyrosine, have been obtained by neutralization of Cy2SnO and H2L. The crystal structures of Cy2SnL (L = glycylglycinate, glycylalaninate) have been determined by single X-ray diffraction. Tin in each case has a distorted trigonal bipyramidal environment with the dipeptide acting as a tridentate NNO-ligand. From IR-data, and in some cases from 119Sn Mossbauer and 119Sn NMR data, analogous molecular structures are inferred for the other compounds Cy2SnL. Spectroscopic data indicate that the solid-state structures…

Aktivität Eiweiss spaltender Enzyme in Fischen

1958

Fresh tissues from sea fishes show much higher activities of cathepsins than the corresponding mammalian tissues. The significance of these findings is discussed. There is no indication for the presence in fresh extracts of fish muscle of either proteinases with a pH optimum near neutrality or of decarboxylases for glutamic and aspartic acids. The activities of glycylglycine dipeptidase in fish muscle are found to be at the upper limit of the values obtained by other workers with mammalian tissues.
