Untersuchung von Adenosintriphosphorsäure (ATP), Adenosindiphosphorsäure (ADP), Adenosinmonophosphorsäure (AMP) und Inosinsäure (IMP) in ruhenden und…
1954
A method for the estimation of muscle nucleotides is described. The separation of nucleotides has been accomplished by paper ionophoresis at high voltages, as well as by paper chromatography. Even little changes in the nucleotide content such as the changes in a single muscular contraction can be well observed by this method.
Functional characterization of α1 -adrenoceptor subtypes in vascular tissues using different experimental approaches:a comparative study
2003
The α1-adrenergic responses of rat aorta and tail artery have been analysed measuring the contractility and the inositol phosphate (IP) formation induced by noradrenaline. Three antagonists, prazosin, 5-methylurapidil (α1A selective) and BMY 7378 (α1D selective) have been used in different experimental procedures. Noradrenaline possesses a greater potency inducing contraction and IP accumulation in aorta (pEC50-contraction=7.32±0.04; pEC50-IPs=6.03±0.08) than in the tail artery (pEC50-contraction=5.71±0.07; pEC50-IPs=5.51±0.10). Although the maximum contraction was similar in both tissues (Emax-tail=619.1±55.6 mg; Emax-aorta-698.2±40.8 mg), there were marked differences in the ability of th…
Activation of soluble guanylyl cyclase by YC-1 in aortic smooth muscle but not in ventricular myocardium from rat
1997
1 The effects of YC-1 (3-(5′-hydroxymethyl-2′-furyl)-1-benzyl indazole), an activator of soluble guanylyl cyclase, on tension, levels of cyclic GMP and cyclic AMP, and cardiac L-type Ca2+-current (ICa(L)) were investigated in aortic smooth muscle and ventricular heart muscle from rat. 2 YC-1 (0.1–30 μM) induced a concentration-dependent relaxation in aortic rings precontracted with phenylephrine (3 μM). The relaxant effects of YC-1 were reversed by 1H-[1,2,4]oxadiazolo[4,3-a]quinoxalin-1-one (30 μM; ODQ), potentiated by zaprinast (10 μM) and antagonized by Rp-8-Br-cGMPS (100 μM). 3 In ventricular heart muscle strips, YC-1 (30 μM) exhibited no effects on force of contraction (Fc) in the abse…
Involvement of nitric oxide and tachykinins in the effects induced by protease-activated receptors in rat colon longitudinal muscle
2003
The aim of the present study was to verify a possible involvement of nitric oxide (NO) and of tachykinins in the contractile and relaxant effects caused by the activation of protease-activated receptor (PAR)-1 and PAR-2 in the longitudinal muscle of rat colon. Mechanical responses to the PAR-1 activating peptides, SFLLRN-NH2 (10 nM–10 μM) and TFLLR-NH2 (10 nM–10 μM), and to the PAR-2-activating peptide, SLIGRL-NH2 (10 nM–10 μM), were examined in vitro in the absence and in the presence of different antagonists. The relaxation induced by SFLLRN-NH2, TFLLR-NH2 and SLIGRL-NH2 was antagonised by the inhibitor of NO synthase L-Nω-nitroarginine methyl ester (300 μM), or by the inhibitor of the gu…
Über die Beeinflussung der Ca-Aufnahme in Lipidextrakte aus Mikrosomen und Mitochondrien des Herzens durch Digitoxin
1970
Lipids were isolated by chloroform-methanol extraction from mitochondrial and microsomal fractions of guinea-pig hearts. In the presence of digitoxin (10−9-10−6 g/ml) 15–30% more radioactive Ca was taken up by the lipid extracts than under control conditions, but the total amount of Ca in this phase remained unchanged. Thus, digitoxin produced an increase in the specific activity of the lipid-bound Ca which may be explained by an increased exchangeability of this Ca fraction. This effect of digitoxin might result in an improved availability of the lipid-bound Ca for Ca-dependent functions (e.g. contraction) of the heart muscle cell.
Reprobación y sátira del "gramático" en las letras áureas II. Textos literarios, principios del siglo XVII
2018
In this work, the author studies the satires against the grammarian in Spanish literary texts of the first third of the 17th century, according to the idea of grammar developed by Nebrija and other humanists. Following the negative judgement made by many essay writers in the 16th century, Salas Barbadillo and Quevedo will repeat some specific motives of that criticism, such as the arrogance or the interest in minor features of the texts, compared to the allegedly profound knowledge seeked by theologicians and moral philosophers. By so doing, these authors take part in an intellectual atmosphere against philologists, that confirms the exclusion, in the Spanish thought of the Golden Age, of t…
Domain-specific intensifying constructions and/in weather-related proverbs. A case study based on Dutch dialects in Flanders.
2021
International audience; [Introduction] There are few things so rigorously present in human consciousness and communication as the subject of the weather. Nevertheless, both in formal (weather forecasts) and informal contexts (daily conversations), this “weather discourse” remains understudied within linguistics (Liégeois 2019). This kind of discourse (Koch & Oesterreicher 1985), however, appears very interesting to different constructionist approaches (Gautier 2018), such as frame semantics and (cognitive) construction grammar. [Research question] In this context, this proposal looks from a constructionist perspective into what could be called “weather sayings” in the dialects of Flanders; …
A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE: VIEWPOINT PHENOMENA IN THE EVOLUTION OF GRAMMAR
2014
Language provides a variety of means to conceptualize objects, states, events, and abstract entities in different ways and from different perspectives. These so-called ‘construal operations’ play a key role in Cognitive Linguistics. With the example of construal operations pertaining to viewpoint and perspectivation, this paper aims to demonstrate how different theoretical and methodological approaches can be combined to yield a better understanding of how languages systematically make use of general cognitive capacities of perspective-taking, -setting, and sharing. These insights can in turn shed light on the evolution of specific grammatical phenomena as well as on the evolution of langua…
Integration of massive states as contractions of non linear sigma-models
2005
We consider the contraction of some non linear sigma models which appear in effective supergravity theories. In particular we consider the contractions of maximally symmetric spaces corresponding to N=1 and N=2 theories, as they appear in certain low energy effective supergravity actions with mass deformations. The contraction procedure is shown to describe the integrating out of massive modes in the presence of interactions, as it happens in many supergravity models after spontaneous supersymmetry breaking.
The translation of Italian verb-particle constructions into French. The case of "Caos Calmo"
2020
Italian verb-particle constructions (VPCs) are generally formed of a verb base (V) and a locative particle (P). In French VPCs are less productive than in Italian, since their constituents are subject to strict combinatorial restrictions. In this paper, the morphosyntactic structures that are most often used to translate Italian VPCs into French will be determined. In order to do so, an Italian-French parallel corpus consisting of the novel Caos calmo (Veronesi, 2005) and its translation will be analysed. Firstly, an inventory of the VPCs that were found within the corpus will be offered. Secondly, these constructions will be analysed under a quantitative and qualitative point of view. Thir…
