This introduction suggests regarding ‘religion’ as a cultural product. The relationship between religion and memory can be investigated through the practice of oath-taking, a particularly sophisticated social tool in ancient Greece. It concerns, in fact, both the status of social trust and problematic intercourses between gods and human beings, who fi nd in oath a regulated and effective space of interrelation.

Trace elements have a fundamental role in natural and anthropogenic systems. In waters, they present a great variability of concentrations that mostly depends on the degree of gas-water-rock interactions and geochemical conditions such as pH, temperature, redox and/or exchange reactions, etc. Even though, they are present in very low contents in host-rocks, elevated concentrations in ground or surface waters may have a hazardous impact on human health and thus, it is important to both quantify and understand their behavior in natural systems. Tra i cinque sensi, la vista e l’udito, secondo i Greci, hanno uno statuto particolare perché risultano i più adatti a produrre conoscenza. Per tutta una tradizione di pensiero, poi, tra i due, è la vista, in quanto senso attivo, a detenere il primato rispetto al passivo e ‘femmineo’ udito. Hieracium umbrosum subsp. abietinum (Asteraceae), a further example of amphi-Adriatic disjunction

So far considered as endemic to Greece, Hieracium umbrosum subsp. abietinum is reported as new for the Italian flora. Its presence has been noted on the Pollino National Park (S Italy). Morphological, ecological and taxonomical notes are given. This discovery increases the list of taxa showing an amphi-Adriatic distribution.
