Yhteisövoimainen oppimisprosessi : substantiivinen teoria aikuisten ryhmässä oppimisen kokemuksista
2018
The aim of this study was to build a conception as well as a substantive theory of adult learners’ group learning. The framework for this study is andragogy, which places the life context of adult learners at the center of the learning process (Knowles 1990). This study has been carried out using grounded theory as a research methodology. Hermeneutics offers a broad scientific paradigm for the understanding of group learning as a phenomenon, whereas grounded theory offers a concrete tool for analyzing data and developing a substantive theory. In this approach, the theory emerges gradually in open interaction between a researcher and the data (Glaser 1992). The informants for this study were…
Development of energy-saving innovative hydraulic mortars reusing spent coffee ground for applications in construction
2023
This paper reports the development of green bio-composite mortars, obtained reusing spent coffee ground (SCG), an agri-food residue, in the light of the Circular Economy approach. This process can boost the sustainability in Construction and proposes an alternative to SCG disposal in landfill, potentially dangerous to humans and the environment. For the first time, specimens were produced and compared using different blends of conventional hydraulic binders (ordinary Portland cement and natural hydraulic lime); SCG partially substituted sand (up to 15 wt.%, with a 2.5% increment) for the aggregate mix. The manufacturing process was performed at ambient conditions (20°C, 65% RH) resulting hi…
Does Arsenic Contamination Affect DNA Methylation Patterns in a Wild Bird Population? : An Experimental Approach
2021
Pollutants, such as toxic metals, negatively influence organismal health and performance, even leading to population collapses. Studies in model organisms have shown that epigenetic marks, such as DNA methylation, can be modulated by various environmental factors, including pollutants, influencing gene expression, and various organismal traits. Yet experimental data on the effects of pollution on DNA methylation from wild animal populations are largely lacking. We here experimentally investigated for the first time the effects of early-life exposure to environmentally relevant levels of a key pollutant, arsenic (As), on genome-wide DNA methylation in a wild bird population. We experimentall…
The Born–Oppenheimer equilibrium bond distance of GeO from millimetre- and submillimetre-wave spectra and quantum-chemical calculations
2014
The millimetre- and submillimetre-wave spectra of the five common isotopologues of (GeO)-O-16 in their electronic and vibrational ground state have been recorded in the spectral region 115-732GHz; for (GeO)-Ge-74-O-16, the rotational spectrum in the v = 1 state has been detected as well. Exploiting the high precision of the measurements, the Born-Oppenheimer breakdown parameter Delta(Ge)(01) could be determined from a Dunham analysis of the spectral data, whereas Delta(O)(01) was obtained from quantum-chemical calculations, because of the lack of high-precision measurements for the (GeO)-O-18 isotopologues. From the rotational equilibrium constant, the Born-Oppenheimer equilibrium distance …
Eheytyminen : koira-avusteisuuden merkitys erityisoppilaalle
2017
Tämän laadullisen tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää koira-avusteisuuden merkitystä erityisoppilaalle ja tuottaa tietoa koira-avusteisen pedagogiikan hyödyistä koulussa. Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin erityisoppilaiden (N=5) kokemuksia koira-avusteisesta interventiosta erityisopetuksen pienryhmässä. Tutkimuksen aineis-to kerättiin haastatteluilla ja memoilla. Analyysimenetelmänä oli glaserilainen grounded theory (GT), jolla muodostettiin jatkuvan vertailun menetelmällä ai-neistoperustainen (substantiaalinen) teoria. Aineistoperustainen teoria muodos-tui kategorioimalla. Analyysi eteni avoimesta (open) koodauksesta valikoivaan (selective) ja teoreettiseen (theoretical) koodaukseen. Analyysi…
Ylipisto-opintojen merkityksellistyminen vertaisohjauksessa
2018
Huhtaniemi, Aleksi. 2018. Yliopisto-opintojen merkityksellistyminen vertaisohjauksessa. Erityispedagogiikan pro gradu –tutkielma. Jyväskylän yliopisto. Kasvatustieteiden laitos. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli luoda aineistoon perustuva teoreettinen malli Jyväskylän ylipistossa toteutetun akateemisten taitojen vertaisohjaus –interventioon osallistuneiden opiskelijoiden kokemuksista. Tutkimus toteutet-tiin grounded theory –metodilla jatkuvan vertailun menetelmään hyödyntäen. Tutkimuksen päätulos on tutkimuksessa mallinnettu merkityksellistymisen kolmiosainen prosessi, joka tarkoittaa henkilökohtaista oppimiskokemusta itsen, tunteiden ja oppimisen suhteesta yliopisto-opintoihin. Merkityks…

Evaluación docente vs. evaluación de la calidad
2014
MAJOR AND TRACE ELEMENTS GEOCHEMISTRY IN THE GROUND WATERS OF A VOLCANIC AREA: MOUNT ETNA (SICILY, ITALY)
1998
Thirty-five ground-water samples have been collected from wells, springs and drainage galleries on Mt Etna volcano for the determination of major, minor and trace elements in solution. Attention has been focused in particular on dissolved minor and trace elements, for most of which no data were available in the studied area. In general, dissolution of solids into Etna's ground waters follows from strong interaction between water of meteoric origin, CO2 gas of magmatic origin and the volcanic rocks of the aquifers. However, the R-mode analysis allowed to distinguish several sources of solutes: Al, Co, Ni, Fe, Si, As would derive mainly from alteration of the volcanic rocks of Etna; SO4=, K, …
Sulla codifica degli eventi di moto in greco omerico: il ruolo dell'aspetto lessicale
2017
This paper aims at investigating the encoding strategy of motion events in Homeric Greek. Based on Talmy’s theoretical framework (1985; 2000; 2007; 2009), this study focuses on a rather neglected topic on motion events description, i.e. the role of verbal inherent lexical aspect (Aktionsart). The analysis takes into account the occurrences of the verbs for run in the Iliad and the Odyssey. In particular, the verbs θέω, τρέχω, ἔδραμον show a non-random distribution with the co-occurring spatial particles as PATH-satellites. Textual data suggest that the [±telic] aspectual feature plays a fundamental role for both the entailment of the arrival of the FIGURE (the moving object) to the GROUND (…
