Saggio di letteratura italiana su alcuni scrittori inviati al confino e sulla rappresentazione dell'immagine marina nelle opere letterarie. Il mare spesso si manifesta col suo sguardo; l'osservazione dell'orizzonte marino determina l'incontro tra sguardo umano e sguardo equoreo: la relazione tra le due tipologie è l'oggetto di questo studio che cerca di oltrepassare il repertorio delle immagini per approdare ad una definizione del rapporto tra l'io, soggetto che scruta le acque, e il mare, oggetto talora mutato in realtà pensante.

This study focuses on the seven short narrative texts of the Spanish edition of the magazine Legiones y Falanges (1940-43), which were published under the heading "A monthly story", from May / June 1942 to December same year. The heading "A monthly story" presents six stories by Spanish authors and only one in translation, "Nariz Azul", by Italian reporter and writer Vittorio G. Rossi. The Spanish firms are all of intellectual figures often of avant-garde formation and production as Samuel Ros, José María Sánchez Silva, Tomás Borrás, D. This chapter considers Bernardi’s contribution to two different processes of traditional institutions revival in East Africa. He was the main ethnographer of the Mugwe, a traditional dignitary of the Meru of Kenya, that ceased to exist soon after his field work. He used the attribution ‘failing prophet’ in the title of the first edition of his book, changed into ‘blessing prophet’ in the following edition, having in the meanwhile registered a growing symbolic consideration for the institution. A marked sexual dimorphism is often observed in arthropods species in which males perform precopulatory mate guarding. It is generally thought to reflect the influence of sexual selection. Until now, sexual dimorphisms associated with mate guarding have mainly been qualitatively described. However, assessing the effects of sexual selection on sexual dimorphims requires a preliminary quantitative assessment of differences in morphology between sexes. Using Fourier analyses, we tested if morphological dimorphisms could be quantitatively assessed in the isopod Asellus aquaticus. 1910 is a crucial year for Russian culture – the deaths of Lev Tolstoi, Vera Komissarzhevskaia and Mikhail Vrubel' symbolize a deep crisis. Symbolism discusses its own death, while the movements which will take its place (acmeism, futurism) move the first tentative steps. This volume is the output of the work of an international research team, analyzing the different parallel events that characterized Russian literature, visual arts, theater, music and cinema in 1910, aiming to compose a synoptic table, a map of the complex and intertwined phenomena that laid the foundation for future developments.
