Roman Women e Public History: la creatività del Web
2018
The Politics of Utopia: Walter Pater’s “Lacedaemon”
2016
Walter Pater is not usually considered as a politically committed writer, neither is Aestheticism of which he was the gifted theoretician with The Renaissance (1873). Although the political commitments of the Aesthetic movement have been questioned over the last two decades, both by including women aesthetes, and by re-evaluating the movement’s dissemination among the middle classes, discussion of Pater’s political ideas is almost non-existent. His Plato and Platonism (1893) is however not so remote from politics since it discusses Plato’s political philosophy. In particular, “Lacedaemon”, the chapter devoted to Sparta, enables Pater to intervene in the political debate from an original sta…
La méritocratie scolaire, une idéologie partagée ?
2006

Understanding moderating effects in increasing share-of-wallet and word-of-mouth : A case study of Lidl grocery retailer
2018
This study examines how five moderating variables (the length of the customer relationship, following a company in print media and on social media, remembering online advertisements, and the customer’s age) affect the relationships between perceived value and loyalty and satisfaction and loyalty in the grocery retailing sector. A series of hypotheses were developed and tested with a sample of 2,072 discount retailer customers in Finland. The results support all the direct effects hypotheses and show that perceived value and satisfaction both have a positive effect on loyalty, measured as a share of wallet and word of mouth and that the effect of perceived value tends to be stronger in the s…
Looking for the best immune-checkpoint inhibitor in pre-treated NSCLC patients: An indirect comparison between nivolumab, pembrolizumab and atezolizu…
2017
Immune-checkpoint inhibitors represent the new standard of care in patients with advanced NSCLC who progressed after first-line treatment. This work aim to assess any difference in both efficacy and safety profiles among Nivolumab, Pembrolizumab and Atezolizumab in pre-treated NSCLC patients. Randomized clinical trials comparing immune-checkpoint inhibitor versus docetaxel in pre-treated patients with advanced NSCLC were included and direct comparison meta-analysis of selected trials have been performed. Subsequently the summary estimates of Nivolumab, Pembrolizumab and Atezolizumab emerging from the direct meta-analysis were selected to provide the pooled estimates of hazard ratio (HR) and…
Evolution of Cell Adhesion Systems: Evidence for Arg-Gly-Asp-Mediated Adhesion in the Protozoan Neoparamoeba aestuarina
1995
Developmental processes in multicellular organisms require structural elements, such as adhesion molecules, to stabilize cells at functional positions. In vertebrates, a series of extracellular matrix proteins, e.g. fibronectin and laminin, are involved in cell adhesion. These proteins contain Arg-Gly-Asp [RGD] at their binding sites. Here we show that at concentrations above 2 mM the peptide GRGDSPK, comprising the tripeptide RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp), prevents the adhesiveness of cells of the marine amoeba Neoparamoeba aestuarina. In addition, elevated levels of GRGDSPK cause cells to alter their shapes from those with digitiform subpseudopodia to rounded cells with small lobed pseudopodia. These…
NFATc1 Is Transcriptionally Activated in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) By Promotor DNA-Hypomethylation Which Correlates with in-Vitro Vulnerabil…
2014
Abstract Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), the most frequent adult leukemia in Western countries, is characterized by progressive accumulation of mature, monoclonal B lymphocytes in blood, bone marrow, and lymphoid tissues. In the pathogenesis and treatment of CLL, B cell receptor (BCR) signaling plays a crucial role, and aberrations in downstream pathways that become activated in CLL need to be better defined. One downstream target of BCR signaling is NFATc1, a transcription factor with a high oncogenic and transforming potential. Employing a genome-wide comparative DNA methylation analysis the NFATc1 5’ region was identified to be DNA hypomethylated in CLL patient samples. The pilot ser…
