Longitudinal associations between teacher-child interactions and academic skills in elementary school

This study examined the extent to which the quality of teacher-child interactions assessed in kindergarten (6-year-olds) is associated with children's reading and math development across the elementary school years. The sample consisted of 515 Finnish children (271 boys, 244 girls). Teacher-child interactions were observed in 49 kindergarten classrooms. The findings from the latent growth curve models showed that high-quality teacher–child interactions in kindergarten were positively associated with the initial levels of reading and math skills. Johdanto. Epäsuora kalorimetria on yleinen tapa määrittää lepoaineenvaihdunta (LAVESK). Tarkoituksena on tutkia LAVESK:n toistettavuutta ja pätevyyttä kannettavalla hengityskaasuanalysaattorilla määritettynä. Tutkimuksen toisessa osassa tutkitaan antropometristen ja hormonaalisten muuttujien yhteyttä lepoaineenvaihduntaan naiskestävyysjuoksijoilla. Naisurheilijan oireyhtymässä alhainen energiansaatavuus, kuukautiskierron häiriöt sekä alentunut luuston massa yhdistyvät toisiinsa. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on myös lisätä tietoutta lifestyle-lehdistä. Tähän tutkimukseen on haastateltu kahdeksaa lifestyle-lehden päätoimittajaa. Teemahaastattelut on analysoitu kahdella tavalla: materiaali on esitetty temaattisella koodauksella ja analyysi on muodostettu narratiivisella lähestymistavalla. Paikallislehden päätoimittajan työssä yhdistyy journalisti, esimies ja talousjohtaja. Päätoimittajan tehtävään kuuluu vastuu lehden sisällöstä, mutta monessa paikallislehdessä päätoimittaja kantaa myös taloudellista vastuuta. Työstä tekee erityisen haastavaa se, että paikallislehti on tiiviissä yhteydessä oman alueensa ihmisiin, eikä päätoimittaja pääse irti roolistaan edes vapaa-ajalla. Limited resources force individuals to trade-off between life-history traits. A vast diversity of life-history strategies, which optimally combine life history traits, can be found. Knowledge of the genetic basis of this phenotypic variation is key to understanding evolutionary processes. I approached life-history evolution by estimating quantitative genetic parameters for a set of life-history traits in the bank vole (Myodes glareolus). Mechanisms of Electron-Induced Single Event Latchup

In this paper, possible mechanisms by which electrons can induce single-event latchups in electronics are discussed. The energy deposition and the nuclear fragments created by electrons in silicon are analyzed in this context. The cross section enhancement effect in the presence of high-Z materials is discussed. First experimental results of electron-induced latchups are shown in static random access memory devices with low linear energy transfer thresholds.
