Trivalent aluminium compounds are well known for their reactivity as Lewis acids/electrophiles, a feature that is exploited in many pharmaceutical, industrial and laboratory-based reactions. Recently, a series of isolable aluminium(I) anions ('aluminyls') have been reported, which offer an alternative to this textbook description: these reagents behave as aluminium nucleophiles. Synthesis of novel fluorinated building blocks via halofluorination and related reactions.

A study exploring halofluorination and fluoroselenation of some cyclic olefins, such as diesters, imides, and lactams with varied functionalization patterns and different structural architectures is described. The synthetic methodologies were based on electrophilic activation through halonium ions of the ring olefin bonds, followed by nucleophilic fluorination with Deoxo-Fluor®. The fluorine-containing products thus obtained were subjected to elimination reactions, yielding various fluorine-containing small-molecular entities.

By means of alternating-current electrochemical technique, four new π-complexes, namely [Cu2(C11H10N2OS)2Br1.91Cl0.09] (1), [Cu(C11H10N2OS)NO3] (2), [Cu2(C11H10N2OS)2(H2O)2](BF4)2 (3) and [Cu2(C11H10N2OS)2(H2O)2](ClO4)2 (4), were obtained using copper(II) salts and the 2-(allylthio)-5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole (C11H10N2OS) ligand. The title compound, [Fe(C27H41N10O3)](PF6)2, is an example of an iron(II) spin-crossover compound. In this compound, C⋯F and CH⋯F/O contacts, present between the cations and anions, extend the structure into a three-dimensional supramolecular network.
Single crystal X-ray structural dataset of 1,2,4-dithiazolium tetrafluoroborate

Herein, we present the crystallographic dataset of 1,2,4-dithiazolium tetrafluoroborate. Single crystal X-ray structural analysis evidences that the 1,2,4-dithiazolium ring is almost planar. The 1,2,4-dithiazolium and tetrafluoroborate ions contribute in hydrogen bonding wherein the N-H·N hydrogen bonding in 1,2,4-dithiazolium dimer forms an eight-membered pseudo ring with the R22(8) Etter's graph set. The information provided in this data contributes to the understanding of structural chemistry and hydrogen bonding interactions in dithiazole derivatives.
5-Carbonyl-1,3-oxazine-2,4-diones from N-Cyanosulfoximines and Meldrum’s Acid Derivatives

At elevated temperatures, N-cyanosulfoximines react with Meldrum’s acid derivatives to give sulfoximines with N-bound 5-carbonyl-1,3-oxazine-2,4-dione groups. A representative product was characterized by single-crystal X-ray structure analysis. The title compound, poly[triaquabis[μ4-N,N′-(1,3,5-oxadiazinane-3,5-diyl)bis(carbamoylmethanoato)]dinickel(II)tetrapotassium], [K4Ni2(C7H6N4O7)2(H2O)3] n , is a second solvatomorph of poly[(μ4-N,N′-(1,3,5-oxadiazinane-3,5-diyl)bis(carbamoylmethanoato)nickel(II)dipotassium] reported previously [Plutenko et al. (2021). Acta Cryst. E77, 298–304]. The asymmetric unit of the title compound includes two structurally independent complex anions [Ni(C7H6N4O7)]2−, which exhibit an L-shaped geometry and consist of two almost flat fragments perpendicular to one another: the 1,3,5-oxadiazinane fragment and the fragment including other atoms of the anion.
