Leczniczy charakter sakramentu pokuty

2016

In the twentieth century, in the understanding and practice of the penance sac rament and reconciliation in the Catholic Church, it was reminded clearly that apart from the judgement dimension, it also has an important healing aspect. Firstly, the paper discussed the healing dimension of the penitent’s acts (confession and satisfaction) and the healing role of forgiveness and reconciliation. Then, con fession and psychotherapy were briefl compared. Reflcting on the healing dimension of confession of sins and the conversation with a confessor, it can be noticed that while confessing something, the human identifis with what he or she confesses more consciously, and often he or she clearly rea…

Psychometric properties of the Assessment Tool for Perceived Agency (ATPA-22) - utility for the rehabilitation of young adults not in education, empl…

2020

Background: Promoting and supporting agency have been at the heart of the debate multidisciplinary. To promote self-awareness of young people’s agency and identify persons in need of support the Assessment Tool for Perceived Agency (ATPA-22) was developed. Aim: This study aims to evaluate the psychometric properties of the ATPA-22. Participants were young adults not in education, employment or training (NEETs) and students in higher education (HEI). Materials and methods: The main data analysis was implemented by Many Faceted Rasch (MFR) analysis. Results: The ATPA-22 items defined a unidimensional construct with reasonable internal consistency and separation ability. The ATPA-22 was capabl…

Predicting running performance and adaptations from intervals at maximal sustainable effort

2023

This study examined the predictive quality of intervals performed at maximal sustainable effort to predict 3-km and 10-km running times. In addition, changes in interval performance and associated changes in running performance were investigated. Either 6-week (10-km group, n = 29) or 2-week (3-km group, n = 16) interval training periods were performed by recreational runners. A linear model was created for both groups based on the running speed of the first 6x3-min interval session and the test run of the preceding week (T1). The accuracy of the model was tested with the running speed of the last interval session and the test run after the training period (T2). Pearson correlation was used…

Usage activity, perceived usefulness, and satisfaction in a web-based acceptance and commitment therapy program among Finnish ninth-grade adolescents.

2020

Understanding adolescent usage activity and experiences in web-based psychological intervention programs helps in developing universal programs that can be adopted for promotion of adolescent well-being and prevention of mental health problems. This study examined the usage activity, perceived usefulness (i.e., learning of mindfulness, acceptance and value-related skills), and program satisfaction of 157 Finnish ninth-grade adolescents, who participated in a school-based five-week universal acceptance and commitment therapy web intervention called Youth Compass. Individual and growth environment-related antecedents were measured before the five-week intervention, adolescents' usage activity…

The micro-macro link in understanding sport tactical behaviours: Integrating information and action at different levels of system analysis in sport

2015

The micro-macro link in understanding sport tactical behaviours: Integrating information and action at different levels of system analysis in sport

2015

The micro-macro link is a central issue of human movement sciences because it directly refers to coordination and scalability of movement behaviour at different levels of analysis in a complex system. This feature of complexity is a key feature to consider decisions and actions as transitional behaviours at different levels during performance. Transitions expressed through bifurcations are an important part of a universal decisionmaking process. Here we explain how individuals perform decision-making behaviours in a minimal social performance unit ( competing dyads), and how these two levels are linked in a sports team. Finally we discuss some applications of the micro-macro links for the d…

Rotator cuff calcific tendinopathy: from diagnosis to treatment

2018

Rotator cuff calcific tendinopathy (RCCT) is a very common condition caused by the presence of calcific deposits in the rotator cuff (RC) or in the subacromial-subdeltoid (SASD) bursa when calcification spreads around the tendons. The pathogenetic mechanism of RCCT is still unclear. It seems to be related to cell-mediated disease in which metaplastic transformation of tenocytes into chondrocytes induces calcification inside the tendon of the RC. RCCT is a frequent finding in the RC that may cause significant shoulder pain and disability. It can be easily diagnosed with imaging studies as conventional radiography (CR) or ultrasound (US). Conservative management of RCCT usually involves rest,…

Predictors of long-term outcomes in patients undergoing periodontal maintenance

2017

Abstract Aim This retrospective study aimed to characterize the baseline status of patients following periodontal maintenance, analysing the association between the long‐term outcome of these patients, smoking, bruxism, and the main clinical and radiographic variables. Material and methods A sample of 174 patients with moderate to severe periodontitis was refined into homogeneous subsamples according to smoking and bruxism and the rate of tooth loss due to periodontal disease (TLPD): 0, 1–2, and >2 teeth. The association and the distribution (χ² test) of the variables within the subsamples were analysed. Results Smoking and bruxism were significantly associated with higher TLPD rates. Verti…
