Nucleophilic attack within Ge, Sn and Pb complexes containing Me2N(CH2)(3) - as a potential intramolecular donor ligand
1998
Abstract Thirteen tin compounds LxPhySnClz and LPh2SnPhX (x=1–4, y=0–3, z=0–2, XPh, F, Cl, Br, I, OPh), six germanium compounds LxPhyGeClz and four lead compounds LPh2PbPhX (XPh, Cl, Br, I) containing the potential intramolecular donor LMe2N(CH2)3—have been synthesized by Grignard reactions, redistribution, halogenation, exchange of halide and phenylation. Evidence for 1,5-chelation in which the donor Me2N intramolecularly attacks the Lewis-acidic atoms Ge, Sn or Pb is provided by six crystal structure determinations: Me2N(CH2)3SnPh2Cl, 5; Me2N(CH2)3SnPh2Br, 5a; Me2N(CH2)3SnPh2I, 5b; Me2N(CH2)3SnPh2OPh, 5d; Me2N(CH2)3SnPh3·HCl·H2O. 1a; Me2N(CH2)3PbPh2I, 17b), and by solution 13C, 119Sn a…
NaI/CuI–II heterometallic cages interconnected by unusual linear 2-coordinate OCN-Cu(I)-NCO links: synthesis, structural, magnetostructural correlati…
2009
A new Na(I)/Cu(I-II) heterometallic coordination complex [Cu(2)L(2)Na(NCO)(2)Cu](n) (1) with an unusual architecture has been synthesised. In 1 cyclic Na-O-Cu-O-Cu cages constructed by the tetradentate N(2)O(2) donor Schiff base ligand (H(2)L = N, N'-bis(2-hydroxyacetophenone) propylenediimine) are interconnected to each other by a rare singly end-to-end bridged OCN-Cu(I)-NCO link generating 1D chain. The complex has been characterised by elemental, spectral and structural analysis. The cyclic voltammogram of 1 has been compared with the analogous complexes. Cryomagnetic susceptibility studies indicate the copper(II) centers in the cyclic Na-O-Cu-O-Cu cages are antiferromagnetically coupled…
Binding Mode and Selectivity of a Scorpiand-Like Polyamine Ligand to Single- and Double-Stranded DNA and RNA: Metal- and pH-Driven Modulation
2017
The interaction of a polyazacyclophane ligand having an ethylamine pendant arm functionalized with an anthryl group (L), with the single-stranded polynucleotides polyA, polyG, polyU, and polyC as well as with the double-stranded polynucleotides polyA-polyU, poly(dAT)(2), and poly(dGC)(2) has been followed by UV/Vis titration, steady state fluorescence spectroscopy, and thermal denaturation measurements. In the case of the single-stranded polynucleotides, the UV/Vis and fluorescence titrations permit to distinguish between sequences containing purine and pyrimidine bases. For the double-stranded polynucleotides the UV/Vis measurements show for all of them hypochromicity and bathochromic shif…
Polysaccharide/polyaminoacid composite scaffolds for modified DNA release.
2009
Abstract In this work composite polymeric films or sponges, based on hyaluronic acid (HA) covalently crosslinked with α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)(2-aminoethylcarbamate)- d , l -aspartamide (PE), have been prepared and characterized as local gene delivery systems. In particular, HA/PE scaffolds have been loaded with PE/DNA interpolyelectrolyte complexes, employing PE as a macromolecular crosslinker for HA and as a non-viral vector for DNA. In vitro studies showed that HA/PE films and sponges have high compatibility with human dermal fibroblasts and they give a sustained DNA release, whose trend can be easily tailored by varying the crosslinking ratio between HA and PE. Electrophoresis analysi…
Terphenyl Derivatives from Allantophomopsis lycopodina.
2016
Three secondary fungal metabolites 1–3 with a benzo[b]naphtho[2,1-d]furan skeleton were isolated from submerged cultures of the ascomycete Allantophomopsis lycopodina. The NMR-based structure elucidation was challenging due to a low H/C ratio of only 0.64 and 0.68, respectively. NMR measurements in two different solvents and the use of NMR experiments such as HSQC-TOCSY and LR-HSQMBC proved to be helpful in this respect. The proposed structures obtained from the comprehensive analysis of the NMR data were verified by comparison of recorded and computed NMR chemical shifts from quantum chemical calculations of several constitutional isomers and were further analyzed with the aid of the DP4 a…
Dual Substituent Parameter Modeling of Theoretical, NMR and IR Spectral Data of 5-Substituted Indole-2,3-diones
2002
Correlations of AM1 and PM3 theoretical data, 13C-NMR substituent chemical shifts (13C-SCS) and IR carbonyl group wave numbers [ν(C3â•ÂO)] were studied using dual substituent parameter (DSP) models for 5-substituted indole-2,3-diones. For the C7 atom a reverse substituent effect attributed to extended À-polarization was observed. On the other hand, the DSP approaches for the C3 atom showed normal substituent effects with some contribution of reverse effect supported strongly by 13C-SCS correlations. In the ν(C3â•ÂO) and p(C3â•ÂO) DSP correlations the field effect contribution predominates over the resonance effect, which justifies the using of earlier suggested vibrational cou…
Analysis of13C NMR substituent chemical shifts in some (aryl)(2-nitrobenzo [b]thiophen-3-yl)amines: A new class of compounds with analgesic, anti-exu…
1995
The 13C NMR chemical shift values of (aryl)(2-nitrobenzo[b]thiophen-3-yl)amines were measured in DMSO-d6 solutions, suggesting the occurrence of an alternate charge polarization at C-3, C-2, C-3a, C-7a, C-4 and C-5. A dual substituent parameter analysis of the experimental data indicates a large or a low resonance contribution for aryl para or meta substituents, respectively, while the inductive component remains constant throughout.
13C-NMR Based Evaluation of the Electronic and Steric Interactions in Aromatic Amines
2005
Abstract: Chemical shifts of the para carbon atoms, δ(13C-4), in a series of aromatic amines were used to calculate the Ãp, ÃR and ÃOR substituent constants for different amino groups. 1-Pyrrolidino, N,N-di-n-butylamino and N,N-diethylamino groups were found to be the most strong electron-donors. ortho-Substitution decreases the donor properties of the amino group. The amino groups in 2,6-di-i-propylaniline and N,N-2,6-tetramethylaniline have very weak electron-donor properties. The nitrogen atom in benzoquinuclidine and N,N-dimethyl-2,6-di-i-propylaniline have an electron-acceptor character. The calculated substituent constants of the amino groups studied are consistent with the s…
Comparison of calculated DFT/B3LYP and experimental 13C and 17O NMR chemical shifts, ab initio HF/6-31G* optimised structures, and single crystal X-r…
2003
Abstract Single crystal X-ray structures (monoclinic space group P2 1 ) for methyl 3-oxo-5β-cholan-24-oate and methyl 3,12-dioxo-5β-cholan-24-oate have been solved and compared with HF/6-31G* optimised structures. In the crystalline packings the side chains are connected with weak OC(sp 3 ) H ⋯ O -type of interactions between C25– H and C24– O –C25 and the keto ends with weak C(sp 3 ) H ⋯ O C-type of interactions between C4– H and O C3. The orientations of the side chains, which steric configurations are of great importance to the biological activity of the molecules, are compared with the experimental structure of methyl 3α-hydroxy-5β-cholan-24-oate. Probable reasons for the observed dif…
1H, 13C and 15N NMR study of 2-alkylnitrosoamino-4-nitropyridines and N-oxides: An example on restricted inversion of sp3 nitrogen
2007
Abstract The 1 H, 13 C and 15 N NMR chemical shifts of seven 2-alkylnitrosoamino-4-nitropyridines and seven 2-alkylnitrosoamino-4-nitropyridine N -oxides have been assigned. The GIAO/DFT 13 C chemical shifts of energetically optimized structures have been calculated. The results were compared to the chemical shifts of previously studied 2-alkylamino and 2-alkylnitramino derivatives of 4-nitropyridine and 4-nitropyridine N -oxide. In sterically crowded ortho -substituted congener (2-ethylnitrosoamino-3-methyl-4-nitropyridine N -oxide) restricted inversion of pyramidal amino nitrogen forms a chiral center in the molecule and makes the geminal protons of N–CH 2 -moiety diastereotopic. In 5- an…
