Good clinical response, remission, and predictors of remission in rheumatoid arthritis patients treated with tumor necrosis factor-α blockers: The GI…

2007

OBJECTIVE: To assess the prevalence of good clinical response and remission in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients with longstanding disease treated with anti-tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) drugs at outpatient clinics. METHODS: Retrospective national study of 14 academic tertiary referral rheumatology medical centers. RA patients with a Disease Activity Score (DAS28) > 3.2 were defined as having active disease and could start TNF-alpha blockers. All patients received one TNF-alpha blocker plus methotrexate (10-20 mg/wk). At the third month the patients were categorized as responders or nonresponders, based on improvement of at least 0.25 of the Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ).…

2017

Efficacy and safety of photodynamic therapy with RLP068 for diabetic foot ulcers: a review of the literature and clinical experience

2020

This article is the second part of a literature review concerning diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) and the use of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (PDT). PDT involves the topical application of a photosensitiser into the tissue, followed by illumination that induces the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). PDT provides bacterial inactivation and promotes wound healing, and it can be used to manage the infection and microbial colonisation of DFUs. It has pivotal advantages in comparison with chemotherapeutics, such as no potential to induce resistance, and a wide spectrum of activity. Tetracationic Zn(II) phthalocyanine derivatives have been developed for PDT. Among these, we would like …

Photoluminescent Detection of Human T-Lymphoblastic Cells by ZnO Nanorods.

2020

The precise detection of cancer cells currently remains a global challenge. One-dimensional (1D) semiconductor nanostructures (e.g., ZnO nanorods) have attracted attention due to their potential use in cancer biosensors. In the current study, it was demonstrated that the possibility of a photoluminescent detection of human leukemic T-cells by using a zinc oxide nanorods (ZnO NRs) platform. Monoclonal antibodies (MABs) anti-CD5 against a cluster of differentiation (CD) proteins on the pathologic cell surface have been used as a bioselective layer on the ZnO surface. The optimal concentration of the protein anti-CD5 to form an effective bioselective layer on the ZnO NRs surface was selected. …

Photoresponse of graphene ruthenium-complex heterostructures

2015

The aim of this study is to understand the photoresponse of a Ruthenium-complex/graphene heterostructure. Early work demonstrated that light detection by graphene field effect devices was enhanced by dropcasting Ruthenium Complex molecules. Here we proposed to fabricate a new class of devices where the Ruthenium-complex molecules are embedded between two layer of CVD monolayer graphene.

Un nouvel interdit au musée : la photographie ?

2008

« Photographies interdites » : cette indication accueille fréquemment le visiteur à l’entrée du musée ou de l’exposition. Les auteurs analysent l’évolution de cette pratique du point de vue du droit et des usages et montrent comment la photographie peut en définitive être considérée par le visiteur comme un instrument de médiation.

Evolution des paysages Sahélines au cours des six dernières décennies dans la région de Niamey : de la disparition de la brousse tigrée à l'encroutem…

2010

In the Sahel, the rapid increase of the population during the last decades and the climate variation lead to an important environmental degradation. This work aims to measure the impacts of the human pressure on ecosystem during the six last decades. A diachronic cartography of a 100 km² area close to Niamey was done with aerial photographs (1950 and 1975) and GPS measurements (2009). Results showed that the tiger bush vegetation was completely cleared between 1950 and 2009 while the fallow decreases from 7 % to 1 %. In the sandy valley, the increase of cultivated fields from 20,7 % (1950) to 69,4 % (1975) favoured wind and water erosions which allowed surface soil crusting. Between 1975 an…

FORMATION OF MOLECULES IN ULTRACOLD ATOMIC GASES VIA QUASI-RESONANT FIELDS

2010

we study the nonlinear mean-field dynamics of diatomic molecule formation at coherent photo- and magneto-association of ultracold atoms focusing on the case when the system is initially in the all-atomic state. We show that in the limit of strongly nonlinear interaction between an ultra-cold atomic-molecular system and a quasi-resonant electromagnetic field, the molecule formation process, depending on the characteristics of the associating field, may evolve according two different scenarios, namely, weak- and strong-oscillatory regimes. In the first case the number of molecules increases without pronounced oscillations of atom-molecule populations, while in the second case high-amplitude R…
