Search for photonic signatures of gauge-mediated supersymmetry in 8TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector

A search is presented for photonic signatures motivated by generalized models of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking. This search makes use of 20.3 fb[superscript −1] of proton-proton collision data at √s = 8 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC, and explores models dominated by both strong and electroweak production of supersymmetric partner states. Four experimental signatures incorporating an isolated photon and significant missing transverse momentum are explored. These signatures include events with an additional photon, lepton, b-quark jet, or jet activity not associated with any specific underlying quark flavor. Triangular flow of thermal photons from an event-by-event hydrodynamic model for 2.76A TeV Pb + Pb collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider

We calculate the triangular flow parameter v3 of thermal photons from an event-by-event ideal hydrodynamic model for 0–40% central collisions of Pb nuclei at √sNN = 2.76 TeV at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. v3 determined with respect to the participant plane (PP) is found to be nonzero and positive, and its pT dependence is qualitatively similar to the elliptic flow parameter v2(PP) of thermal photons in the range 1 pT 6 GeV/c. In the range pT 3 GeV/c, v3(PP) is found to be about 50–75% of v2(PP) and for pT > 3 GeV/c the two anisotropy parameters become comparable. 1,3,6,8-Tetrasubstituted pyrene derivatives with two types of substituents (4-(2,2-dimethylpropyloxy)pyridine, 1-decyl-1,2,3-triazole, 1-benzyl-1,2,3-triazole, and pyrazole), substituted in such a way that provides the long axial symmetry, are prepared and characterized in the present study. To the best of our knowledge, the pyrene derivative containing the same heteroaryl motif (triazole) but substituted by two various alkyls, straight decyl and benzyl-based side chains (C), is reported for the first time. Tas sniedza iespēju novērtēt tulkojuma ekvivalenci un salīdzināt divus tulkojumus latviešu valodā, jo tiek uzskatīts ka frazeoloģismu tulkošana ir viena no lielākajām tulkošanas problēmām. Darba teorētiskā daļa balstās uz Seviljas Munjosas (1993, 2002, 2013) un Korpas Pastoras (1996, 2000, 2003) pētnieciskiem darbiem kuri ir veltīti tieši parēmiju klasifikācijai un frazeoloģijas tulkošanai. (Aminoferrocenyl)(ferrocenyl)carbene(pentacarbonyl)tungsten(0) (CO)5W=C(NHFc)Fc (W(CO)5(E-2)) is synthesized by nucleophilic substitution of the ethoxy group of (CO)5W=C(OEt)Fc (M(CO)5(1Et)) by ferrocenyl amide Fc-NH– (Fc = ferrocenyl). W(CO)5(E-2) thermally and photochemically eliminates bulky E-1,2-diferrocenylimine (E-3) via a formal 1,2-H shift from the N to the carbene C atom. Global Communication with Icons in Environmental Contexts

Icons are small signs with fixed meanings. Icons are usually context specific. For example in the context of a hotel, the client can often find icons in hotel room books and safety guides. Scandic Hotel chain, for example, currently provides the manual for its safety system in 14 languages. There are at least two major shortcomings of this system: (1) in emergency or panic situations, it is very difficult to find your own language from the leaflet, and (2) there are no Asian languages. There is an obvious need for a global icon-based hotel safety language. In our paper, we introduce an icon-based model, language and mobile application for hotel safety. peerReviewed
