New bronchodilators selected by molecular topology.

Molecular topology has been applied to find new lead compounds with bronchodilator activity. Among the selected compounds stands out 3-(1H-tetrazol-5yl)-9H-thioxanthene-9 -one-10,10-dioxide, anthrarobin, 9-oxo-9H-thioxantene-3-carboxylic-10,10-dioxide acid, acenocoumarol and griseofulvin, with a percentage of relaxation, at 0.1 mM, of 91, 92, 85, 69, and 74%, respectively. Theophylline shows a correspondent value of 77% (Emax = 100% at 1 mM).

Endocrine disruptors may play substantial roles in the high incidence of breast cancer. We previously described how early exposure to the mixture of phytoestrogen genistein (G) and the anti-androgen vinclozolin (V) affects peripubertal mammary development. This study evaluates the carcinogenic potential of exposure to V alone or associated with G from conception until weaning in Wistar rats. Dams were exposed to V, G or GV during pregnancy/lactation. Performance of a membrane-coupled high-rate algal pond for urban wastewater treatment at demonstration scale

[EN] The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of an outdoor membrane-coupled high-rate algal pond equipped with industrial-scale membranes for treating urban wastewater. Decoupling biomass retention time (BRT) and hydraulic retention time (HRT) by membrane filtration resulted in improved process efficiencies, with higher biomass productivities and nutrient removal rates when operating at low HRTs. At 6 days of BRT, biomass productivity increased from 30 to 66 and to 95 g.m(-3).d(-1) when operating at HRTs of 6, 4 and 2.5 days, respectively. Anthracene Fluorescence Quenching by a Tetrakis (Ketocarboxamide) Cavitand

Quenching of both fluorescence lifetime and fluorescence intensity of anthracene was investigated in the presence of a newly derived tetrakis (ketocarboxamide) cavitand at various concentrations. Time-correlated single photon counting method was applied for the lifetime measurements. A clear correlation between the fluorescence lifetime of anthracene as a function of cavitand concentration in dimethylformamide solution was observed. The bimolecular collisional quenching constant was derived from the decrease of lifetime. However, little information exists as to whether anal endosonography reliably defines pelvic floor structures. Wiek XIX, a zwłaszcza jego druga połowa, zaznaczył się w dziejach katolickiej muzyki kościelnej intensywnym ruchem odnowy (reforma cecyliańska). Ojcem tego ruchu na ziemi kłodzkiej był ks. Franz Urban, który już w 1869 roku założył w Lądku-Zdroju pierwsze koło cecyliańskie. W 1873 roku przekształciło się ono w Stowarzyszenie Cecyliańskie Hrabstwa Kłodzkiego i działało na rzecz poprawy stanu muzyki kościelnej aż do 1945 roku. W latach 1884–1902 funkcję prezesa tego związku pełnił ks. Franz Urban. Urodził się 6 stycznia 1832 roku w Wambierzycach. Po ukończeniu Gimnazjum Katolickiego w Kłodzku rozpoczął we Wrocławiu studia teologiczne. Święcenia kapłańskie przyjął 30 czerwca 1857 roku. Następn…
