Wielki Tydzień jest bez wątpienia dla wszystkich chrześcijan szczytem życia liturgicznego. Ponieważ celebracje te swymi korzeniami sięgają Jerozolimy, każda wspólnota posiada szereg tożsamych obrzędów i tradycji. In recent years, botanical insecticides based on essential oils (EOs), or their main components, have received much attention as promising tools for Integrated Pest Management, due to their environmental safety and low side effects on non-target organisms. In this study, Carlina acaulis EO and its main component, carlina oxide, recently proven to be effective larvicidal and adulticidal agents against some insect pests, were analyzed for their toxicity, electroantennographic (EAG), and behavioral responses to adult olive fruit fly (Bactrocera oleae). Here we show that inorganic polyphosphate (polyP), a polyanionic metabolic regulator consisting of multiple phosphate residues linked by energy-rich phosphoanhydride bonds, is present in the synovial fluid. In a biomimetic approach, to enhance cartilage synthesis and regeneration, we prepared amorphous polyP microparticles with Mg2+ as counterions. The particles were characterised by X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) and Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopic (FTIR) analyses. Taphrina betulina ir dimorfiska agrīnā askomicēte, kas inficē vairākas bērzu sugas un tām izraisa hiperplāzijas, ko sauc par vējslotām. Šādas hiperplāzijas ir tipisks simptoms auksīnu producējošo mikroorganismu infekcijām. Auksīns ir ticis izolēts no T. betulina un vairākām citām Taphrina ģints sēnēm. Auksīna biosintēzes ceļi kā arī to loma infekciju norisē lielākajai daļai sēņu ir vai nu slikti izpētīti, vai nav atklāti vispār. Šī dabra mērķis bija atrasts un anotēt par galvenā augu auksīna indolil-3-etiķskābes sintēzi atbildīgos gēnus T. betulina genomā.
