Solution and solid-state studies on the halide binding affinity of perfluorophenyl-armed uranyl–salophen receptors enhanced by anion–π Interactions
2016
The enhancement of the binding between halide anions and a Lewis acidic uranyl-salophen receptor has been achieved by the introduction of pendant electron- deficient arene units into the receptor skeleton. The association and the occurrence of the elusive anion-p interaction with halide anions (as tetrabutylammonium salts) have been demonstrated in solution and in the solid state, providing unambiguous evidence on the interplay of the concerted interactions responsible for the anion binding.

Gold-Catalyzed Suzuki Coupling of ortho -Substituted Hindered Aryl Substrates
2017
International audience; A method that allows hindered ortho-substituted aryl iodides to be efficiently coupled to phenylboronic acid using a gold-catalyzed C-C bond formation is presented. The use of a molecularly-defined dinuclear gold chloride catalytic precursor that is stabilized by a new tetradentate (N,N')-diamino-(P,P')-diphosphino ferrocene hybrid ligand in a Suzuki-type reaction is described for the first time. Electron-rich isopropyl groups on phosphorus were found essen-tial for a superior activity, while the performances of a set of analogous gold dinuclear complexes that were fully characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and XRD analysis, were investigated. Therefore, ar…
Electrocarboxylation of Benzyl Halides through Redox Catalysis on the Preparative Scale
2006
The electrocarboxylation of benzyl halides to the corresponding carboxylic acids through homogeneous charge-transfer catalysis was investigated both theoretically and experimentally to determine the influence of the operative parameters on the yield of the process and on the catalyst consumption. Theoretical considerations, based on fast kinetics of redox catalysis, were confirmed by the electrocarboxylation of 1-phenyl-1-chloroethane catalyzed by 1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid di methyl ester performed at a carbon cathode under different operative conditions. We obtained high yields of the target carboxylic acid and experienced a low catalyst consumption by operating with optimized [RX]bulk/…
Ion Pair Binding in the Solid-State with Ditopic Crown Ether Uranyl Salophen Receptors
2016
Two ditopic uranyl salophen receptors with benzo-15-crown-5 and benzo-18-crown-6 units (R(1) and R(2), respectively) have been synthesized from commercially available starting materials. Comprehensive studies on the solid-state ion pair complexation with various alkali and ammonium halides have been conducted. From the 19 obtained solid-state structures (6 structures with R(1), 13 structures with R(2)), three general interaction motifs I-III have been observed. Interaction motif I has a separated ion pair with the cation coordinated to the crown ether unit, and the anion or oxygen containing solvent molecule coordinated to the uranyl center. The interaction motif II manifests a polymeric st…
Improved Preparations of Molybdenum Coordination Compounds from Tetrachlorobis(diethyl ether)molybdenum(IV)
2001
International audience; The reduction of MoCl5 with metallic tin in diethyl ether provides a rapid and convenient entry to [MoCl4(OEt2)2] This compound can be transformed easily and in high yields into a variety of other useful synthons. The loss of ether in the solid state affords a new and reactive form of MoCl4. Treatment with THF, PMe3 or LiOtBu affords [MoCl4(THF)2], [MoCl4(PMe3)3] or [Mo(OtBu)4] in high isolated yields. Treatment with metallic tin in THF affords [MoCl3(THF)3] All of these reactions can be carried out under simple experimental conditions and represent significant improvements relative to previously reported syntheses of the same compounds.

Tellurium(II)-Centered Dications from the Pseudohalide “Te(OTf)2”
2009
Te for two: Supported by pyridine- or carbene-based ligands, tellurium-centered dications are prepared in high yield and include a dicationic tellurium analogue of the recently synthesized “carbodicarbene”. The key to accessing these compounds is the isolation of a base-stabilized form of TeOTf2 (see structure), a new highly electrophilic reagent for tellurium chemistry. peerReviewed
Katalizatory i proces koordynacyjnej polimeryzacji etylenu - eksperyment i teoria
2004
Badania eksperymentalne i teoretyczne koordynacyjnej polimeryzacji etylenu przeprowadzono wobec katalizatorów otrzymanych z prekursorów - kompleksów halogenków Ti, Zr, Hf, V z organicznymi zasadami Lewisa, nośnika magnezowego [MgCl2(THF)2] i związków glinoorganicznych. Określono zależnosć pomiędzy rodzajem halogenków w prekursorze a aktywnością katalizatora wanadowego. Ustalono profile energetyczne reakcji insercji i terminacji (beta-eliminacji) oraz przeniesienia atomu wodoru beta. Obliczone wartości barier insercji, a także energii wiązania etylenu do centrum aktywnego dobrze korelują z wynikami polimeryzacji. Stwierdzono występowanie w centrach aktywnych oddziaływań agostycznych, które o…
