Observations on the Darboux coordinates for rigid special geometry

2006

We exploit some relations which exist when (rigid) special geometry is formulated in real symplectic special coordinates $P^I=(p^\Lambda,q_\Lambda), I=1,...,2n$. The central role of the real $2n\times 2n$ matrix $M(\Re \mathcal{F},\Im \mathcal{F})$, where $\mathcal{F} = \partial_\Lambda\partial_\Sigma F$ and $F$ is the holomorphic prepotential, is elucidated in the real formalism. The property $M\Omega M=\Omega$ with $\Omega$ being the invariant symplectic form is used to prove several identities in the Darboux formulation. In this setting the matrix $M$ coincides with the (negative of the) Hessian matrix $H(S)=\frac{\partial^2 S}{\partial P^I\partial P^J}$ of a certain hamiltonian real fun…

Mapping of Composite Hadrons into Elementary Hadrons and Effective Hadronic Hamiltonians

1998

A mapping technique is used to derive in the context of constituent quark models effective Hamiltonians that involve explicit hadron degrees of freedom. The technique is based on the ideas of mapping between physical and ideal Fock spaces and shares similarities with the quasiparticle method of Weinberg. Starting with the Fock-space representation of single-hadron states, a change of representation is implemented by a unitary transformation such that composites are redescribed by elementary Bose and Fermi field operators in an extended Fock space. When the unitary transformation is applied to the microscopic quark Hamiltonian, effective, hermitian Hamiltonians with a clear physical interpre…

Bicoherent-State Path Integral Quantization of a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian

2020

We introduce, for the first time, bicoherent-state path integration as a method for quantizing non-hermitian systems. Bicoherent-state path integrals arise as a natural generalization of ordinary coherent-state path integrals, familiar from hermitian quantum physics. We do all this by working out a concrete example, namely, computation of the propagator of a certain quasi-hermitian variant of Swanson's model, which is not invariant under conventional $PT$-transformation. The resulting propagator coincides with that of the propagator of the standard harmonic oscillator, which is isospectral with the model under consideration by virtue of a similarity transformation relating the corresponding…

Global-to-local incompatibility, monogamy of entanglement, and ground-state dimerization: Theory and observability of quantum frustration in systems …

2015

Frustration in quantum many body systems is quantified by the degree of incompatibility between the local and global orders associated, respectively, to the ground states of the local interaction terms and the global ground state of the total many-body Hamiltonian. This universal measure is bounded from below by the ground-state bipartite block entanglement. For many-body Hamiltonians that are sums of two-body interaction terms, a further inequality relates quantum frustration to the pairwise entanglement between the constituents of the local interaction terms. This additional bound is a consequence of the limits imposed by monogamy on entanglement shareability. We investigate the behavior …

Two-photon laser dynamics.

1995

Degenerate as well as nondegenerate three-level two-photon laser (TPL) models are derived. In the limit of equal cavity losses for both fields, it is shown that the nondegenerate model reduces to the degenerate one. We also demonstrate the isomorphism existing between our degenerate TPL model and that of a dressed-state TPL. All these models contain ac-Stark and population-induced shifts at difference from effective Hamiltonian models. The influence of the parameters that control these shifts on the nonlinear dynamics of a TPL is investigated. In particular, the stability of the periodic orbits that arise at the Hopf bifurcation of the system and the extension of the self-pulsing domains of…

Analytical evaluation of first-order electrical properties based on the spin-free Dirac-Coulomb Hamiltonian.

2011

We report an analytical scheme for the calculation of first-order electrical properties using the spin-free Dirac-Coulomb (SFDC) Hamiltonian, thereby exploiting the well-developed density-matrix formulations in nonrelativistic coupled-cluster (CC) derivative theory. Orbital relaxation effects are fully accounted for by including the relaxation of the correlated orbitals with respect to orbitals of all types, viz., frozen-core, occupied, virtual, and negative energy state orbitals. To demonstrate the applicability of the presented scheme, we report benchmark calculations for first-order electrical properties of the hydrogen halides, HX with X = F, Cl, Br, I, At, and a first application to th…

Toward a formalization of a two traders market with information exchange

2014

This paper shows that Hamiltonians and operators can also be put to good use even in contexts which are not purely physics based. Consider the world of finance. The work presented here {models a two traders system with information exchange with the help of four fundamental operators: cash and share operators; a portfolio operator and an operator reflecting the loss of information. An information Hamiltonian is considered and an additional Hamiltonian is presented which reflects the dynamics of selling/buying shares between traders. An important result of the paper is that when the information Hamiltonian is zero, portfolio operators commute with the Hamiltonian and this suggests that the dy…

High resolution study of AsHD2: Ground state and the three bending fundamental bands v(3), v(4), and v(6)

2006

International audience; For the first time the infrared spectrum of the AsHD2 molecule has been measured in the region of the bending fundamental bands v(3), v(4), and v(6) on a Fourier transform spectrometer with a resolution of 0.0024 cm(-1) and analyzed. More than 5500 transitions with J(max) = 26 have been assigned and used both to obtain "ground state combination differences" and for the determination of upper state ro-vibrational energies of the triad (001000), (000100), and (000001). Rotational parameters including centrifugal distortion coefficients up to octic terms of the ground vibrational state were calculated by fitting more than 500 "ground state combination differences" with …

Unexpected formation of a dodecanuclear {CoII6CuII6} nanowheel under ambient conditions: magneto-structural correlations.

2021

We report the unique heterobimetallic dodecanuclear oxamate-based {CoII6CuII6} nanowheel obtained using an environmentally friendly synthetic protocol. The effective Hamiltonian methodology employed herein allows the rationalisation of magnetic isotropic or anisotropic metal clusters, being a significant advance for future studies of exciting properties only observed at low and ultralow temperatures.
