The play entitled The Madwoman of Chaillot (1945) by Jean Giraudoux (1882– 1944) is a poetic expression, through a true/false game, of the author’s anxiety concerning the politics of the excessive exploitation of the Earth’s natural resources and its consequences. The idea of getting rich no matter what has been ridiculed with mastery, due to the characteristics of the style of the author of Electra, such as parody, irony, and agility. The main character is ambivalent, which allows interpretative variations and makes the matter of the play complicated and equivocal, which has been proved by the Polish staging of the play in 1947.

The playwright’s prophetic and imagined version of events touched the nerves of those who supported Thatcher, and also those who derided her. Heat shock protein 60 (HSP60) is a mitochondrial chaperone that is implicated in physiological and pathological processes. For instance, it contributes to protein folding and stability, translocation of mitochondrial proteins, and apoptosis. Variations in the expression levels of HSP60 have been correlated to various diseases and cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Implementing the 3-omega technique for thermal conductivity measurements

Thermal conductivity of the constituent materials is one of the most important properties affecting the performance of micro- and nanofabricated devices. These devices often make use of thin films with thicknesses ranging from some nanometers to few micrometers. The thermal conductivity of thin films can be measured with the three-omega method. In three-omega technique a metal wire acting as a resistive heater is microfabricated on the sample. Alternating current passing through the metal heater at a frequency ω heats the sample periodically and generates oscillations in the resistance of the metal line at a frequency 2ω. Time - frequency analysis in an open - air theater

Acoustics measurements have been carried out along the steps of an ancient open-air theater. Source positions were fixed in several points in the orchestra while microphones, radially placed, were rotated sector by sector, spatially sampling the cavea. Measurements analysis allowed some speech and music sound quality index calculation for each source-microphone couple. Moving from the observation of acoustic quality indexes a time-frequency analysis of impulse response is presented in this paper. Timefrequency analysis of impulse response gives hints for new considerations about the sound field in this peculiar environment.

Weather data are crucial to correctly design buildings and their heating and cooling systems and to assess their energy performances. In the intensely urbanized towns the effect of climatic parameters is further emphasized by the Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon, known as the increase in the air temperature of urban areas, compared to the one measured in the extra-urban areas. The analysis of the heat island needs detailed local climate data which can be collected only by a dedicated weather monitoring system.
