Analysis of the semileptonic and nonleptonic two-body decays of the double heavy charm baryon states Ξcc++,Ξcc+ and Ωcc+

2019

We calculate the semileptonic and a subclass of sixteen nonleptonic two-body decays of the double charm baryon ground states Ξcc++,Ξcc+ and Ωcc+ where we concentrate on the nonleptonic decay modes. We identify those nonleptonic decay channels in which the decay proceeds solely via the factorizing contribution precluding a contamination from W exchange. We use the covariant confined quark model previously developed by us to calculate the various helicity amplitudes which describe the dynamics of the 1/2+→1/2+ and 1/2+→3/2+ transitions induced by the Cabibbo-favored effective (c→s) and (d→u) currents. We then proceed to calculate the rates of the decays as well as polarization effects and ang…

Inclusive cross section and double-helicity asymmetry forπ0production at midrapidity inp+pcollisions ats=510  GeV

2016

PHENIX measurements are presented for the cross section and double-helicity asymmetry (A(LL)) in inclusive pi(0) production at midrapidity from p + p collisions at root s = 510 GeV from data taken in 2012 and 2013 at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The next-to-leading-order perturbative-quantum-chromodynamics theory calculation is in excellent agreement with the presented cross section results. The calculation utilized parton-to-pion fragmentation functions from the recent DSS14 global analysis, which prefer a smaller gluon-to-pion fragmentation function. The pi(0)A(LL) results follow an increasingly positive asymmetry trend with p(T) and root s with respect to the predictions and are …

Model-Independent Determination of the Spin of the Ω− and Its Polarization Alignment in ψ(3686)→Ω−Ω¯+

2021

We present an analysis of the process $\psi(3686) \to \Omega^- \bar{\Omega}^+$ ($\Omega^-\to K^-\Lambda$, $\bar{\Omega}^+\to K^+\bar{\Lambda}$, $\Lambda\to p\pi^-$, $\bar{\Lambda}\to \bar{p}\pi^+$) based on a data set of $448\times 10^6$ $\psi(3686)$ decays collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII electron-positron collider. The helicity amplitudes for the process $\psi(3686) \to \Omega^- \bar{\Omega}^+$ and the decay parameters of the subsequent decay $\Omega^-\to K^-\Lambda$ $(\bar{\Omega}^+\to K^+\bar{\Lambda})$ are measured for the first time by a fit to the angular distribution of the complete decay chain. The branching fraction of $\psi(3686) \to \Omega^- \bar{\Omega}^+$ is me…

Break-up and Coherent Photoproduction ofηMesons on the Deuteron

1997

We present new break-up and coherent data for $\ensuremath{\eta}$ meson photoproduction on the deuteron, using a deuterium target and tagged bremsstrahlung photons up to 1 GeV. The differential cross sections for the coherent process were measured from threshold to 800 MeV. They are much smaller than those previously reported. The break-up channel provides a direct measurement of the neutron to proton differential cross section ratios. At the ${S}_{11}(1535)$ resonance peak, ${\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{n}/{\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{p}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}0.68\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.06$ leading to an isoscalar to isovector amplitude ratio of ${A}_{s}{/A}_{\ensurem…

Ab initio three-loop calculation of the W -exchange contribution to nonleptonic decays of double charm baryons

2019

We have made an ab initio three-loop quark model calculation of the $W$-exchange contribution to the nonleptonic two-body decays of the doubly charmed baryons $\Xi_{cc}^{++}$ and $\Omega_{cc}^{+}$. The $W$-exchange contributions appear in addition to the factorizable tree graph contributions and are not suppressed in general. We make use of the covariant confined quark model previously developed by us to calculate the tree graph as well as the $W$-exchange contribution. We calculate helicity amplitudes and quantitatively compare the tree graph and $W$-exchange contributions. Finally, we compare the calculated decay widths with those from other theoretical approaches when they are available.

Measurement of the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn Integrand forH2from 200 to 800 MeV

2006

A measurement of the helicity dependence of the total inclusive photoabsorption cross section on the deuteron was carried out at MAMI (Mainz) in the energy range $200l{E}_{\ensuremath{\gamma}}l800\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}$. The experiment used a $4\ensuremath{\pi}$ detection system, a circularly polarized tagged photon beam and a frozen-spin target which provided longitudinally polarized deuterons. The contribution to the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn sum rule for the deuteron determined from the data is $407\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}20(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}24(\mathrm{syst})\text{ }\text{ }\ensuremath{\mu}\mathrm{b}$ for $200l{E}_{\ensuremath{\gamma}}l800\text{ }\text{ }\m…

Search forfJ(2220)in RadiativeJ/ψDecays

2010

We present a search for f_(J)(2220) production in radiative J/ψ→γf_(J)(2220) decays using 460  fb^(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e^(+)e^(-) collider. The f_(J)(2220) is searched for in the decays to K^(+)K^(-) and K_(S)^(0)K_(S)^(0). No evidence of this resonance is observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the product of the branching fractions for J/ψ→γf_(J)(2220) and f_(J)(2220)→K^(+)K^(-)(K_(S)^(0)K_(S)^(0)) as a function of spin and helicity are set at the level of 10^(-5), below the central values reported by the Mark III experiment.

J/ψPolarization inppCollisions ats=7  TeV

2012

The ALICE Collaboration has studied J/psi production in pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV at the LHC through its muon pair decay. The polar and azimuthal angle distributions of the decay muons were measured, and results on the J/psi polarization parameters lambda(theta) and lambda(phi) were obtained. The study was performed in the kinematic region 2: 5 < y < 4, 2 < p(t) < 8 GeV/c, in the helicity and Collins-Soper reference frames. In both frames, the polarization parameters are compatible with zero, within uncertainties.
