Possible Anomalies in Higgs Decay: Charm Suppression and Flavour-Violation

It is suggested that the Higgs boson may have a branching ratio into the c (c) over bar c mode suppressed by several orders of magnitude compared with conventional predictions and in addition some small but detectable flavour-violating modes such as b (s) over bar and tau(mu) over bar. The suggestion is based on a scheme proposed and tested earlier for explaining the mixing pattern and mass hierarchy of fermions in terms of a rotating mass matrix. If confirmed, the effects would cast new light on the geometric origin of fermion generations and of the Higgs field itself.

Composite states of two right-handed neutrinos

In this work, we develop a model for Higgs-like composites based on two generations of right-handed neutrinos that condense. We analyze the spontaneous symmetry breaking of the theory with two explicit breakings, setting the different scales of the model and obtaining massive bosons as a result. Finally, we calculate the gravitational wave imprint left by the phase transition associated with the symmetry breaking of a generic potential dictated by the symmetries of the composites.

The authors compute certain (soft-virtual) corrections to the Higgs boson production in the gluon-gluon fusion at next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order in QCD. Such higher loop calculations are essential for comparing the theoretical predictions with the experimental results of the Higgs boson production at LHC.

For many decades of the last century, physicists were struggling to define consistent (renormalizable and unitarity preserving) models for spin-one massive particles (Proca fields). As we know, this was beautifully achieved by Weinberg, Salam and Glashow in 1967 when they proposed an electroweak unified theory which we now call the Standard Model. This paper contains three new results. {\bf 1}.We introduce new notions of projective crystalline representations and twisted periodic Higgs-de Rham flows. These new notions generalize crystalline representations of \'etale fundamental groups introduced in [7,10] and periodic Higgs-de Rham flows introduced in [19]. Developing the Framed Standard Model

The framed standard model (FSM) suggested earlier, which incorporates the Higgs field and 3 fermion generations as part of the framed gauge theory structure, is here developed further to show that it gives both quarks and leptons hierarchical masses and mixing matrices akin to what is experimentally observed. From Tree Unitarity to Top Quark Physics in 5D Higgsless Models

In five dimensional models of Higgsless electroweak symmetry breaking, tree level unitarity in gauge boson scattering is restored by the exchange of gauge boson Kaluza-Klein modes instead of a Higgs boson. Unitarity of scattering amplitudes involving top quarks requires also the Kaluza-Klein modes of the third family quarks. It is shown that the relevant unitarity cancellations are consistent with gauge symmetry breaking by boundary conditions. These results are used to constrain the couplings of the top quark to Kaluza-Klein modes and the implications for collider phenomenology are discussed.

Stability of the VEV hierarchy and Higgs boson invisibility in majoron models

Abstract We study the stability of the lepton-number breaking VEV under radiative corrections in the doublet and triplet majoron models, including the effects of a heavy top quark. We find that it is possible to maintain the hierarchy between the VEV's, at the one-loop level, by fine tuning the ratio of two coupling constants in the Higgs potential. For a top quark heavier than 50–60 GeV the required relation depends strongly on the top mass. We use this relation to show that the decay mode of the neutral Higgs boson to majorons may be the dominant one for a wide range of the Higgs mass, thus making its detection, in this class of models, more problematic.

New signatures of flavor violating Higgs couplings

We explore several novel LHC signatures arising from quark or lepton flavor violating couplings in the Higgs sector, and we constrain such couplings using LHC data. Since the largest signals are possible in channels involving top quarks or tau leptons, we consider in particular the following flavor violating processes: (1) $pp \to thh$ (top plus di-Higgs final state) arising from a dimension six coupling of up-type quarks to three insertions of the Higgs field. We develop a search strategy for this final state and demonstrate that detection is possible at the high luminosity LHC if flavor violating top--up--Higgs couplings are not too far below the current limit.
