Precision measurements of electroweak gauge boson parameters at LEP

Abstract Over ten years after the start-up of LEP and four years after the completion of the energy scans around the Z resonance the analyses of the Z parameters by the four experiments Aleph, Delphi and L3 are final and the Opal results are very close to final. The analyses of the polarisation of τ leptons and measurements of the production rates and forward-backward asymmetries in the heavy flavour sector are approaching their finalisation. Constrained SUSY seesaws with a 125 GeV Higgs

Motivated by the ATLAS and CMS discovery of a Higgs-like boson with a mass around 125 GeV, and by the need of explaining neutrino masses, we analyse the three canonical SUSY versions of the seesaw mechanism (type I, II and III) with CMSSM boundary conditions. In type II and III cases, SUSY particles are lighter than in the CMSSM (or the constrained type I seesaw), for the same set of input parameters at the universality scale. Thus, to explain $m_{h^0} \simeq 125 GeV$ at low energies, one is forced into regions of parameter space with very large values of $m_0$, $M_{1/2}$ or $A_0$. Nonperturbative effective model for the Higgs sector of the standard model

A nonperturbative effective model is derived for the Higgs sector of the Standard Model which is described by a simple scalar theory. The renormalized couplings are determined by the derivatives of the Gaussian effective potential that are known to be the sum of infinite bubble graphs contributing to the vertex functions. A good agreement has been found with strong coupling lattice simulations when a comparison can be made.

New Higgs Signatures in Supersymmetry with Spontraneously Broken R Parity"

Higgs production from $Z$ decay in supersymmetry with spontaneous broken R parity proceeds mostly by the Bjorken process as in the standard model. However, the corresponding production rates can be weaker than in the standard model (SM), especially in the low mass region. This will substantially weaken the Higgs boson mass limits derived from LEP1. More strikingly, the main Higgs decay channel is "invisible", over most of the mass range accessible to LEP1, leading to events with large missing energy carried by majorons. This possibility should be taken into account in the planning of Higgs boson search strategies not only at LEP but also at high energy supercolliders.

Factorization and NNLL Resummation for Higgs Production with a Jet Veto

Using methods of effective field theory, we derive the first all-order factorization theorem for the Higgs-boson production cross section with a jet veto, imposed by means of a standard sequential recombination jet algorithm. Like in the case of small-q_T resummation in Drell-Yan and Higgs production, the factorization is affected by a collinear anomaly. Our analysis provides the basis for a systematic resummation of large logarithms log(m_H/p_T^veto) beyond leading-logarithmic order. Specifically, we present predictions for the resummed jet-veto cross section and efficiency at next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic order. Search for the Higgs boson in the H→WW→ℓνjj decay channel at s=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector

A search for the Standard Model Higgs boson has been performed in the H→WW→lνjj channel using 4.7 fb^(−1) of pp collision data recorded at a centre-of-mass energy of √s = 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Higgs boson candidates produced in association with zero, one or two jets are included in the analysis to maximize the acceptance for both gluon fusion and weak boson fusion Higgs boson production processes. No significant excess of events is observed over the expected background and limits on the Higgs boson production cross section are derived for a Higgs boson mass in the range 300 GeV<m_H<600 GeV. Sensitivity to the Higgs sector of supersymmetric-seesaw models in the lepton flavor violatingτ→μf0(980)decay

In this work we study the lepton flavor violating (LFV) semileptonic $\ensuremath{\tau}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\mu}{f}_{0}(980)$ decay within the context of SUSY-Seesaw Models, where the MSSM spectrum is extended by three right-handed neutrinos and their SUSY partners, and where the seesaw mechanism is used to generate the neutrino masses. Search for the standard model Higgs boson in the ZH→νν¯bb¯ channel in 9.5 fb−1 of pp¯ collisions at s=1.96 TeV

We present a search for the standard model Higgs boson in 9.5 fb-1 of ppbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The final state considered contains a pair of b jets and is characterized by an imbalance in transverse energy, as expected from ppbar->ZH->vvbb production. The search is also sensitive to the WH->lvbb channel when the charged lepton is not identified. The data are found to be in good agreement with the expected background. For a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV, we set a limit at the 95% C.L. on the cross section sigma(ppbar->[Z/W]H), assuming standard model branching fractions, that is a factor of 4.3 times larger than th…
