Explorarem els orígens d’aquest model en els textos mèdics divulgatius i la literatura de ficció del segle XVIII.

Luvussa esitellään lapsuuden historiaa tutkimusalana ja tarjotaan välineitä ymmärtää tutkimusalan traditioita, erityispiirteitä ja lähestymistapoja. Luvussa pohditaan, millaisista lähtökohdista tutkimus on versonut 1960-luvulta lähtien, millaisia paradigmamuutoksia alalla on tapahtunut ja millaisia painopistealueita siitä voidaan havaita. Samalla pohdittavaksi asettuu tieteidenvälisen keskustelun merkitys menneisyyden lapsia koskevan tutkimuksen lähestymistapojen ja menetelmien muutokselle. Aprīļa mēneša laikapstākļi Latvijā mēdz būt ļoti atšķirīgi, bet nereti šajā laikā uz upēm veidojas ledus sastrēgumi. Latvijas Universitātes Muzeja Botānikas un mikoloģijas kolekcijās glabājas dabaspētnieka Karla Reinholda Kupfera (Karl Reinhold Kupffer, 1872–1935) fotoliecības par ledus sastrēgumiem uz Daugavas 1904. un 1905. gados.
From arsenic to DDT: Pesticides, Fascism and the invisibility of toxic risks in the early years of Francoist Spain (1939-1953)

This paper reviews the way in which Spanish agriculture climbed onto the pesticide treadmill. We claim that Fascist policies and expert advice assembled in the early 1940s accelerated the introduction of pesticides into Spanish agriculture and promoted the emergence of the Spanish pesticide industry in the times of autarky. Agricultural engineers were the key protagonists in this process, but other human and non-human actors also played a pivotal role: a new pest (the Colorado beetle), Francoist politicians, farmers, landowners and industry managers. La majoria dels expedicionaris van topar a la tornada amb la incomprensio i l’oblit de les mateixes institucions que havien promogut el seu viatge.

Most recently we have assisted to a considerable increase of investigations on cons tructivi Stic approaches to Science teaching, but among all these works we rarely found detailed proposals for including the History and Philosophy of Science. In this paper we consider how to initiate this trend and which should be the aims in order to get a better Science teaching. We consider basically which the pupils’ perceptions of Science in a High School level are in order to show how we can modify them by means of introducing the History of Science under a new perspective.

Abstract Within the framework of recent historiography about the role of the World Health Organization (WHO) in modernizing public health and the multifaceted concept of global health, this study addresses the impact of the WHO’s “country programs” in Spain from the time it was admitted to this organization in 1951 to 1975.
