Photoluminescent Detection of Human T-Lymphoblastic Cells by ZnO Nanorods.

The precise detection of cancer cells currently remains a global challenge. One-dimensional (1D) semiconductor nanostructures (e.g., ZnO nanorods) have attracted attention due to their potential use in cancer biosensors. In the current study, it was demonstrated that the possibility of a photoluminescent detection of human leukemic T-cells by using a zinc oxide nanorods (ZnO NRs) platform. Monoclonal antibodies (MABs) anti-CD5 against a cluster of differentiation (CD) proteins on the pathologic cell surface have been used as a bioselective layer on the ZnO surface. Defying Stereotypes with Nanodiamonds: Stable Primary Diamondoid Phosphines

International audience; Direct unequal C-H bond difunctionalization of phosphorylated diamantane was achieved in high yield from the corresponding phosphonates. Reduction of the functionalized phosphonates provides access to novel primary and secondary alkyl/aryl diamantane phosphines. The prepared primary diamantyl phosphines are quite air stable compared to their adamantyl and especially alkyl or aryl analogues. This finding is corroborated by comparing the singly occupied molecular orbital energy levels of the corresponding phosphine radical cations obtained by density functional theory computations.

Darba pētījums ir par šķidra metāla temperatūras homogenizāciju, izmantojot plūsmu, ko rada rotējoši pastāvīgo magnētu dipoli. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt efektīvāko magnēta pozīciju atkarībā no leņķa priekš šķidra metāla temperatūras homogenizācijas. Darbā veikts literatūras apskats, novērtēti galvenie plūsmas parametri, izveidota eksperimentālā iekārta, izpētīta siltuma pārnese metālā un mērīta temperatūra laikā, savstarpēji salīdzināti iegūtie rezultāti t.sk. ar skaitliskajiem aprēķiniem. Relationship between inbreeding and milk production traits in two Italian dairy sheep breeds.

The effects of inbreeding in livestock species breeds have been well documented and they have a negative impact on profitability. The objective of this study was to evaluate the levels of inbreeding in Sarda (SAR, n = 785) and Valle del Belice (VdB, n = 473) dairy sheep breeds and their impact on milk production traits. Two inbreeding coefficients (F) were estimated: using pedigree (FPED), or runs of homozygosity (ROH; FROH) at different minimum ROH lengths and different ROH classes. Analysis of runs of homozygosity of cattle living in different climate zones

Abstract Aim of this study was to analyze the distribution and characteristics of runs of homozygosity in Bos taurus taurus and Bos taurus indicus breeds, as well as their crosses, farmed all around the world. With this aim in view, we used single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) genotypes for 3,263 cattle belonging to 204 different breeds. After quality control, 23,311 SNPs were retained for the analysis. Animals were divided into seven different groups: 1) continental taurus, 2) temperate taurus, 3) temperate indicus, 4) temperate composite, 5) tropical taurus, 6) tropical indicus, and 7) tropical composite. The participant interview: a method to understand the individual's experience in the car

L’individu dans son automobile, durant ses déplacements quotidiens, habite d’une façon ou d’une autre l’espace circonscrit dans lequel il se trouve alors. De ce point de vue, il apparaît nécessaire de développer une ethno-sociologie des manières d’habiter son automobile. Pour atteindre cette ambition heuristique, nous préciserons ici les termes de cette méthode que nous nommons « entretien participant ». Hybridant les méthodes de l’entretien et de l’observation participante, l’entretien du rapport de l’individu contemporain à son automobile alternant sans cesse entre réflexivité et routines, entre repli sur soi et disponibilité au monde et à soi.

Kieltä voi käyttää luovalla ja innovatiivisella tavalla, sillä ihminen pääsee itse vaikuttamaan suoraan siihen, millaisena muut ihmiset hänen kielensä kokevat.
