A few remarks on the Inedita Pseudo-Chrysostomic Homily De transfiguratione et eleemosyna (CPG 5009; BHGn 1996t)

The article presents the preliminary results of the author’s study of the unedited homily De transfiguratione et eleemosyna (CPG 5009; BHGn 1996t), ascribed to John Chrysostom. The question of the manuscript tradition is first discussed. The article shows that Maurice Sachot is right when he indicates only the manuscript Romanus Angelicus gr. 125 (T.1.7) as a manuscript witness of this homily and that the other two witnesses indicated by Pinakes are erroneous. Then, the descriptions of the folios that preserve the homily are analysed in the light of a new examination of them. W działalności duszpasterskiej Kościoła w Polsce wizyta duszpasterska, zwana kolędą, ma swoje określone miejsce i stanowi duże wyzwanie dla duszpasterzy. Jest co roku realizowana w podobny sposób, ponieważ w tym zakresie obowiązuje wygodne kryterium pasterskie: „zawsze się tak robiło”. Papież Franciszek w Evangelii gaudium stwierdza, że duszpasterstwo w kluczu misyjnym wymaga rezygnacji z tego wygodnego kryterium. Rok duszpasterski obfituje w wydarzenia liturgiczne i pozaliturgiczne, w czasie których do kościoła przychodzą ci, których na co dzień tam brak. Chodzi o święta Bożego Narodzenia, święta Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego, Środę Popielcową, błogosławieństwo pokarmów, uroczystość Pierwszej Komunii Świętej, uroczystość Bożego Ciała, a także chrzest, bierzmowanie, ślub i pogrzeb. Te wszystkie przestrzenie duszpasterskie są szansą na dotarcie z Radosną Nowiną do tych, którzy często są obecni ciałem, ale duchowo są mniej lub bardziej oddaleni. The Holy Bible is the basic source of the wedding homily. Apart from the Bible, the ordinances of the sacrament of marriage are an important element of the content of the homily. The words of the marriage vow are a sacramental formula and a constitutive sign of the sacrament of marriage. They express their marital agreement and establish a marriage covenant. Hence, the content analysis of marital promises in the context of preaching a wedding homily plays an important role, which is still too little used in preaching.
