Comparing Tangible and Fully Virtual Haptic Systems for HMI Studies in Simulated Driving Situations

International audience; The contribution of tangible and intangible feedback is compared for virtual tactile car Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) design, to measure their performance both in static conditions and while driving. A subjectively calibrated transparent glass provides tangible passive haptics, and visual cues are used to study sensory substitution-based intangible interactions. The results show that the performance of the subjects was significantly improved in driving conditions as they interacted faster, more accurately and with a higher satisfaction. Effect of Footstep Vibrations and Proprioceptive Vibrations Used with an Innovative Navigation Method

This study proposes to investigate the effect of adding vibration feedback to a navigation task in virtual environment. Previous study used footstep vibrations and proprioceptive vibrations in order to decrease the cyber-sickness and increase the sense of presence. In this study, we experiment the same vibration modalities but with a new navigation method. The results show that proprioceptive vibrations do not impact the sense of presence neither the cyber-sickness while footstep vibrations increase sense of presence and decrease in a certain way cyber-sickness. Human motor adaptation is crucial to remain efficient when exposed to unfamiliar environments. In these contexts, the efficient strategies developed by the brain to optimise movement can prove deficient. Dexterous manual movement execution in space therefore require the learning of new coordinated motor actions. Le hasard fait son apparition dans le droit de l'Union européenne en matière de d'accès au territoire de l'Union pour les ressortissants des pays tiers, meme pour les demandeurs d'asile ou pour les personnes en besoin de protection. Dans ce contexte, le hasard perd les caractères habituels qui lui sont reconnus par les Etats membres de l'Union pour devenir un instrument de dissuasion au service de la priorité politique de reduire les mouvements migratoires.

It is therefore reasonable to devote this thesis to the place occupied by insecurity in public debate in the Central African Republic, a state covering roughly the same surface area as France. Within the space of less than two years the European Court of Human Rights and the Italian Constitutional Court have returned almost opposing judgments on the question of the observance of political rights by Italy’s 2005 electoral law. The ECHR found the applications made to it by groups of electors inadmissible given the manifestly ill-founded character of the grievances they were based on.
