Lead acetate precursor based p-i-n perovskite solar cells with enhanced reproducibility and low hysteresis

2015

A low temperature approach for the fabrication of p-i-n perovskite solar cells is presented. Using lead acetate-based precursors, flat and homogeneous CH3NH3PbI3 films, compatible with the use of thin organic charge transport layers, can be obtained. The corresponding solar cells showed power conversion efficiency up to 12.5%, with remarkable reproducibility and very low hysteresis.

Does a Responsible University Need a Third Mission?

2019

AbstractThere are different positions in the discourse about how the university can contribute to innovation, economic development and regional development. One position regards regional development as a new third mission. Another position argues for the integration of the regional role within the first two roles, which are teaching and research. Both positions are normative and rest on the assumption that the university is a homogeneous organisation and that transforming the role of the university into a regional development role is simple. However, if the university is a loosely coupled organisation, the transformation is more challenging. This chapter addresses this organisational challe…

Models of SHS: An overview

2007

International audience; The theoretical models of SHS based on lamellar or cellular approximations of the heterogeneous reactive media are comparatively analyzed. It is shown that the ratio of the reaction time to the characteristic time of heat transfer between particles is a decisive parameter for the combustion wave propagation. When the time of reaction is shorter than the time of heat exchange, the combustion occurs in a discrete mode; in the opposite case, a quasi-homogeneous combustion mode occurs. Development of the discrete cellular model does not discard the quasi-homogeneous approach but markedly extends the scope of combustion theory. This extension enables explanation of many o…

Danau Laut Balbullol di Misool Raja Ampat

2018

Prevention of benzo(a)pyrene-induced mutagenicity by homogeneous epoxide hydratase

1976

Benzo(a)pyrene and benz(a)anthrancene which, in contrast to the K-region epoxides benzo(a)pyrene 4,5-oxide and benz(a)anthracene 5,6-oxide, are not mutagenic to Salmonella typhimurium TA 1537 in the absence of mammalian enzyme preparations, were activated by liver microsomes from C3H mice, which had not received any pretreatment, to mutagens reverting this tester strain to histidine prototrophy. Addition of epoxide hydratase inhibitors greatly increased this mutagenicity and addition of pure epoxide hydratase reduced it by more than 95% down to the range of spontaneous mutations as observed in absence of any added mutagen. This demonstrates that the metabolic pathway responsible for the mut…

What Drove Past Teleconnections?

2003

Ice core records from Greenland and Antarctica and sediment records from the world9s oceans have shown that over the past 100,000 years, climate has varied substantially across the globe. In his Perspective, Sirocko asks what drove these--sometimes very rapid--climate oscillations. He highlights the report of Burns et al., whose monsoon record from the Indian Ocean shows strong similarities with ice core records from Greenland. Sirocko argues that the large areas of homogeneous sea surface temperature in the cold circum-Antarctic current and in the warm-water masses of the low latitudes must have played an important role in linking climate forcing between distant parts of the world. The muc…

Self-construals, conflict styles, and religious identification in India

2013

Purpose – This paper aims to explore the relationships between self-construals, religious identification, and conflict styles in India. Design/methodology/approach – Data were gathered in India (n=1,108) among Hindus (n=744) and Muslims (n=364) in various organizations throughout India. Conflict styles were measured using Oetzel's conflict style measure. Self-construal was measured using Singelis' self-construal measure. Pearson correlations and multiple regressions were conducted. Findings – Correlation analysis showed significant negative correlation between the independent and interdependent self-construal. Multiple hierarchical regression modeling demonstrated significant interactions …

Characterization of single semiconductor nanowires by synchrotron radiation nanoprobe

2012

In this work, we report on the results of the characterization of single semiconductor nanowires by x-ray fluorescence nanoprobe. Wurtzite InGaN and Co-implanted ZnO single nanowires were studied. Ternary semiconductor nanowires show an axial inhomogeneous elemental distribution, with Ga accumulating at the bottom and In at the top of the wires. The ZnO NWs, on the other hand, show a homogeneous distribution of the Co implanted along the nanowires, without signatures of clustering or segregation effects induced by the implantation. No signatures of unintentional doping are observed neither in the InGaN nor the ZnO NWs. These overall results demonstrate the suitability of X-ray fluorescence …

The use of species in plantations: renaturalisation and reforestation in Sicily

2017

Afforestation and reforestation activities in Sicily have been widespread in the last century, in order to increase the forest cover that was seriously reduced in the former centuries. Notwithstanding this, Sicily is still characterized by only the 12% of the regional surface covered by woods and forest. The reforestation in the last century was carried out using conifers and eucalypts, just in order to ensure a quick protection of slopes and pastureland, coping diffuse erosion events, and those intervention had a remarkable success. Nowadays, the target of enlarging the forest areas in the island is still compulsive, but the use of species, considering the actual knowledge and nature consc…
