Palladium(II)-Stabilized Pyridine-2-Diazotates: Synthesis, Structural Characterization, and Cytotoxicity Studies
2018
Well-defined diazotates are scarce. Here we report the synthesis of unprecedented homoleptic palladium(II) diazotate complexes. The palladium(II)-mediated nitrosylation of 2-aminopyridines with NaNO2 results in the formation of metal-stabilized diazotates, which were found to be cytotoxic to human ovarian cancer cells.
Synthesis and characterization of [Mo(μ-EPh)(CO)3(CH3CN)]2 (E=Se, Te), including the X-ray structure of the tellurium derivative
2000
International audience; The reaction of Mo(CO)3(MeCN)3 and E2Ph2 (E=Se, Te) yields the edge-sharing bioctahedral, metalmetal bonded Mo(I) products [Mo(CO)3(MeCN)(μ-EPh)]2. The structure of the tellurolato derivative was confirmed by X-ray crystallography: triclinic, space group , a=7.3149(17), b=9.6959(16), c=9.7090(10) Å, α=80.366(10), β=76.563(13), γ=72.877(16)°, V=636.43(19) Å3, Dcalc=2.222 Mg m−3, μ=3.271 mm−1, R1=0.0418, wR2=0.0689 for 163 parameters and 2238 data with I>2σ(I). The interaction of these compounds with excess E2Ph2 as a possible entry to homoleptic Mo(EPh)3 has been investigated.
Bis(arylimidazole) Iridium Picolinate Emitters and Preferential Dipole Orientation in Films
2018
The straightforward synthesis and photophysical properties of a new series of heteroleptic iridium(III) bis(2-arylimidazole) picolinate complexes are reported. Each complex has been characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance, UV-vis, cyclic voltammetry, and photoluminescent angle dependency, and the emissive properties of each are described. The preferred orientation of transition dipoles in emitter/host thin films indicated more preferred orientation than homoleptic complex Ir(ppy)3.
Radical cation salts of BEDT-TTF, enantiopure tetramethyl-BEDT-TTF, and TTF-Oxazoline (TTF-Ox) donors with the homoleptic TRISPHAT anion
2011
International audience; The synthesis and crystal structures of five radical cation salts based on the organic donors bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene (BEDT-TTF), racemic ethylenedithio-methyl-oxazoline-tetrathiafulvalene (EDT-TTF-MeOx) and the enantiopure (S,S,S,S) and (R,R,R,R) tetramethyl-bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene (TMBEDT-TTF) and the D3-symmetric anion tris(tetrachlorobenzenediolato)phosphate(V) (TRISPHAT) are reported. The salts are formulated as [BEDT-TTF][(rac)-TRISPHAT]·CH2Cl2 (1), [BEDT-TTF][(rac)-TRISPHAT]·2CH3CN (2), [(rac)-EDT-TTF-Ox][(rac)-TRISPHAT]·CH3CN (3), [(S,S,S,S)-TMBEDT-TTF][(rac)-TRISPHAT]·2CH3CN (4), and [(R,R,R,R)-TMBEDT-TTF][(rac)-TRISPHAT]·2CH3CN (…
An intramolecular antiferromagnetically coupled pentanuclear homoleptic Mn(II) cluster: Synthesis, crystal structure, spectral and magnetic property
2013
Abstract A pyrazole based ditopic ligand 5(E)-5-methyl-N′-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)-1H-pyrazole-3-carbohydrazide (PzOPyH), prepared by the reaction between 5-methylpyrazole-3-carbohydrazide and pyridine-2-carbaldehyde, reacts with Mn(ClO4)2·6H2O to form a self-assembled, antiferromagnetically coupled alkoxide bridged pentanuclear Mn(II) homoleptic cluster complex [Mn5(PzOPy)6](ClO4)4 (1). The complex has a central Mn5(μ-O6) core involving six ligand molecules. This pentanuclear core has a trigonal bipyramidal arrangement of Mn(II) atoms, where, the axial metal centers (Mn2 and Mn_2) have a N3O3 chromophore and the equatorial centers (Mn1, Mn_1 and Mn3) have N4O2 chromophore with distorted oct…
Synthesis of a labile sulfur-centred ligand, [S(H)C(PPh2S)2]−: structural diversity in lithium(i), zinc(ii) and nickel(ii) complexes
2016
A high-yield synthesis of [Li{S(H)C(PPh2S)2}]2 [Li2·(3)2] was developed and this reagent was used in metathesis with ZnCl2 and NiCl2 to produce homoleptic complexes 4 and 5b in 85 and 93% yields, respectively. The solid-state structure of the octahedral complex [Zn{S(H)C(PPh2S)2}2] (4) reveals notable inequivalence between the Zn-S(C) and Zn-S(P) contacts (2.274(1) Å vs. 2.842(1) and 2.884(1) Å, respectively). Two structural isomers of the homoleptic complex [Ni{S(H)C(PPh2S)2}2] were isolated after prolonged crystallization processes. The octahedral green Ni(ii) isomer 5a exhibits the two monoprotonated ligands bonded in a tridentate (S,S',S'') mode to the Ni(ii) centre with three distinctl…
Rare-earth metal bis(tetramethylaluminate) complexes supported by a sterically crowded triazenido ligand
2010
Complexes [NNN]Ln(AlMe(4))(2) (Ln = Y, La, Nd, Lu) bearing the sterically demanding aryl-substituted triazenido ligand [(Tph)(2)N(3)] (Tph = [2-(2,4,6-iPr(3)C(6)H(2))C(6)H(4)]) can be obtained from homoleptic complexes Ln(AlMe(4))(3) in moderate yields, both via protonolysis with [(Tph)(2)N(3)]H and a salt metathesis reaction pathway utilizing [(Tph)(2)N(3)]K. In the solid state the Y and Lu derivatives are isostructural, with both tetramethylaluminate groups coordinated in an eta(2) fashion, while one of the [AlMe(4)] ligands of the Nd derivative features a distorted eta(2) coordination mode. Due to the high affinity of the triazenido ligand toward the more Lewis-acidic and harder aluminiu…
Influence of Peripheral Substitution on the Magnetic Behavior of Single-Ion Magnets Based on Homo- and Heteroleptic TbIIIBis(phthalocyaninate)
2013
A series of homoleptic ([Tb(III)(Pc)(2) ]) and heteroleptic ([Tb(III)(Pc)(Pc')]) Tb(III) bis(phthalocyaninate) complexes that contain different peripheral substitution patterns (i.e., tert-butyl or tert-butylphenoxy groups) have been synthesized in their neutral radical forms and then reduced into their corresponding anionic forms as stable tetramethylammonium/tetrabutylammonium salts. All of these compounds were spectroscopically characterized and their magnetic susceptibility properties were investigated. As a general trend, the radical forms exhibited larger energy barriers for spin reversal than their corresponding reduced compounds. Remarkably, heteroleptic complexes that contain elect…
Persistent radicals of trivalent tin and lead.
2008
In this report we present synthetic, crystallographic, and new electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopic work that shows that the synthetic route leading to the recently reported, first persistent plumbyl radical *PbEbt3 (Ebt = ethylbis(trimethylsilyl)silyl), that is, the oxidation of the related PbEbt3-anion, was easily extended to the synthesis of other persistent molecular mononuclear radicals of lead and tin. At first, various novel solvates of homoleptic potassium metallates KSnHyp3 (4a), KPbHyp3 (3a), KSnEbt3 (4b), KPbIbt3 (3c), and KSnIbt3 (4c) (Hyp = tris(trimethylsilyl)silyl, Ibt = isopropylbis(trimethylsilyl)silyl), as well as some heteroleptic metallates, such as [Li(OE…
Terpyridine-based metallopolymer thin films as active layer in ammonia sensor device
2016
International audience; A metal-containing polymer has been prepared by electropolymerization of an homoleptic Ru(II)-terpyridine complex bearing pyrrole heterocycles. The polymer is obtained as a thinfilm at the surface ofelectrodes, and has been characterized by electrochemical measurements, XPS and microscopy. It hasbeen shown that this polymer acts as an active gas sensitive layer since it enables the detection of anammonia gasflow through layer’s resistivity measurements.
