Identità, Flessibilità e Sostenibilità per un nuovo Social Housing - Identity, Flexibility and Sustainability for the new Social Housing

2012

Uwarunkowania i przejawy różnicowania modelu konsumpcji na Śląsku w latach 2004-2015

2017

Demographic and Economics Determinants of Differentiation of Consumption Model in Silesia in Poland in the Years 1994-2013

2016

The research presented in this article focuses on long-term changes in consumption patterns in Silesia, which covers three border provinces of Poland - Silesia, Opole Voivodship and Lower Silesia. The investigation concerns also identification of the most important factors determining differentiation of consumption patterns implemented by households in that region. Based on data of the Central Statistical Office in Warsaw coming from the panel research on households’ budgets in 2004-2013 there was conducted an econometric analysis of few characteristics of households (such as: the level and the main source of income, place of residence, age or educational level of reference person (leader o…

Inequality of Spanish household expenditure for the 2006-2016 period- are we converging?

2019

The depth and persistence of the Great Recession that started in 2008 had a considerable impact on income distribution and inequality. Therefore, studies of living standards and evolution of income inequality are trend topics nowadays. Our goal was to estimate the impact of the economic crises on household expenditure and the trends and evolution of regional inequality. We applied our analysis to the Spanish case based on Household Budget Survey data from Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE, the National Statistics Institute) and the period of eleven years between 2006 and 2016. A model that showed good results in modelling income was the biparametric gamma model, which is further very u…

Nitrous oxide emissions in a membrane bioreactor treating saline wastewater contaminated by hydrocarbons

2016

The joint effect of wastewater salinity and hydrocarbons on nitrous oxide emission was investigated. The membrane bioreactor pilot plant was operated with two phases: i. biomass acclimation by increasing salinity from 10 gNaCl L−1 to 20 gNaCl L−1 (Phase I); ii. hydrocarbons dosing at 20 mg L−1 with a constant salt concentration of 20 gNaCl L−1 (Phase II). The Phase I revealed a relationship between nitrous oxide emissions and salinity. During the end of the Phase I, the activity of nitrifiers started to recover, indicating a partial acclimatization. During the Phase II, the hydrocarbon shock induced a temporary inhibition of the biomass with the suppression of nitrous oxide emissions. The r…

Management of Greenhouse Gas Emissions for Airport Inventories

2020

Greenhouse gases retain heat in the atmosphere since they absorb most of the Earth's outgoing long wave infrared radiation. The energy trapping alters the radiative balance that, in turn, modifies weather patterns at a global scale, progressively increasing the natural greenhouse effect. Heattrapping ability of some pollutants and primarily the carbon overload in the atmosphere as a result of human activities which have been protracted over a long period of time, has led to climate change and increase in global average temperature. In a long-term perspective, emission abatement from aviation sector has needed wide-ranging strategies. In this view an inventory of greenhouse gases can be a be…

2004

This paper focuses on the factors contributing to gender inequality in the distribution of paid work and unpaid work in homes. The European Union Household Panel for Spain is used to empirically test the relative impact of such factors and their contribution to gender inequality. Three indicators are considered: intra-household inequality in employment status, the gender gap in paid employment and the ratio between unpaid care activities and time spent in paid employment. Personal characteristics of the female partner such as age and education have a significant impact on these three indicators. Household characteristics such as the difference in income and in time devoted to caring activit…
