Hybrid model of an inventer-induction motor system
1969
A model of the three-phase bridge inverter with a wide range of validity is proposed. This model can be used for the simulation of the inverter induction motor system on a hybrid computer or an analogue computer. In the latter case it is necessary to achieve a logical device which realizes the inverter model. After a block diagram for the simulation of the inverter induction motor system is illustrated as well as the circuital diagram of the device which simulates the inverter. Finally the authors describe the tests carried out in order to verify the validity of the inverter model and the correct operating of the device which simulates the inverter.
An explanation of the Δ D 35 (1930) as a σΔ bound state
2009
Constituent quark models based on two-body potentials systematically overpredict the mass of ΔD35 (1930). A possible solution to this problem comes out from the application of a schematic hybrid model, containing three-quark as well as meson-baryon components, to the light-quark baryon spectrum. The ΔD35 (1930) and its partners ΔD33 (1940) and ΔD31 (1900) are found to contain a significant σΔ component. Then, through the use of the hidden gauge formalism, it is shown that these resonances can be dynamically generated from the σ-Δ interaction. In particular ΔD35 (1930) can be interpreted as being essentially a σΔ bound state. This interpretation suggests that the inclusion of σΔ as an effect…
Institutional Change in Spanish Chambers of Commerce
2021
This chapter explains the evolution of the chambers of commerce in Spain. The chambers have always faced political and associative tensions, generating tremendous internal instability, and multiple attempts to make them disappear. They adopted a public model with a mandatory fee in the early days. The Dictatorship decided to convert them into public agencies and cancel their representative aspirations. In the democratic era, several legal reforms have decreed that chambers of commerce are corporations under public law with voluntary affiliation. Pressure from voluntary business associations has been crucial in this regard. Both compulsory membership and the mandatory fee disappeared as a co…
Toward a Collective Agenda on AI for Earth Science Data Analysis
2021
In the last years we have witnessed the fields of geosciences and remote sensing and artificial intelligence to become closer. Thanks to both the massive availability of observational data, improved simulations, and algorithmic advances, these disciplines have found common objectives and challenges to advance the modeling and understanding of the Earth system. Despite such great opportunities, we also observed a worrying tendency to remain in disciplinary comfort zones applying recent advances from artificial intelligence on well resolved remote sensing problems. Here we take a position on research directions where we think the interface between these fields will have the most impact and be…
The performance investigation of viscoelastic hybrid models in vehicle crash event representation
2011
Aurthor's version of a chapter published in the book: Proceedings of the 18th IFAC World Congress 2011. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.3182/20110828-6-IT-1002.00284 This paper presents application of physical models composed of springs, dampers and masses joined together in various arrangements to simulation of a real car collision with a rigid pole. Equations of motion of those systems are being established and subsequently solutions to obtained differential equations are formulated. We start with a general model consisting of two masses, two springs, and two dampers, and illustrate its application to represent fore-frame and aft-frame of a vehicle. Hybrid model…
The rise of the hybrid model of art museums and cultural institutions. The case of Barcelona
2015
ABSTRACTArts and museum management analysis usually classifies art museums and cultural institutions as a public or private non-for-profit. However, budget and analysis management, as Mark J. Schuster stated, reveals that the majority of museums and cultural institutions cannot be classified neither public nor private non-profit, because they are hybrids. This paper analyses with a multidimensional methodology the different degrees of hybridization of Barcelona's museums and cultural institutions. Finally, we explain its phenomenon as the emergence of a new hybrid local model of museums and cultural institutions, which Barcelona is a singular and advanced case.

This study examines open access availability and self-archiving policies of 336 Finnish peer reviewed journals and serials which are classified at levels 1 to 3 in national Publication Forum. The study concludes that 53 % of Finnish peer reviewed publication channels are open access and 12 % of non-open access publication channels have defined their green open access policy to allow self-archiving. 6 % of publications practice delayed open access model and 2 % hybrid model. The study also concludes that only a small group of Finnish peer reviewed journals meet the focal Plan S requirements. peerReviewed
